Yea, compared to Parc Astrix, I feel there is a lot of unused space, especially inside of the Rhine drop that could have more track, more elements, more fun. Meh.

I'd rather have something that has incredible pacing than with incredible length tbh

A minute long ride that slams into the brakes is legit

Color... my vote would be for red.... Intamin (assuming) has a nice red look, and no red at BGW since BBW. Plus, I can think of several good themes using red, especially if there is a Spain versus Festa theme. However.... JCC interrupts this speculation with a height waiver approval reminder:

Color Scheme: The color of the Attraction at any point at or above 60 feet above
finished grade shall be muted and designed to minimize visual impacts from
Community Character Corridors and Areas as defined in the Comprehensive Plan. A
color scheme plan and color samples shall be submitted to, and approved by, the
Director of Planning for consistency with this condition prior to the issuance of a
Building Permit for the Attraction

Red isn't really "muted" or a color that would minimize the visual impact.

Any guesses on track color?
Blue and blue that’s gonna fade to powder blue and white #BGWcolorwheel
It will likely be pretty close to alpengist and Griffin. The JCC building code currently more or less requires that for anything 80 feet or more above grade. That was also directly stated in the height waver.

Another takeaway from the overlay...

With the layout land (coaster?) locking some empty field space that may also be difficult to access/use, the entrance off of Festa, possible difficulty in tying in a path to a new land from the Ponte de San Marco (a wish of mine), need to utilize some space east of the tracks for pasture, the Colonial Pipeline ROW, etc....I'm feeling Festa Field will pretty much be this attraction and not really a new hamlet. There are some options, sure, but this doesn't scream "new land" to me. Which is probably not a coincidence with how the park named the site plan update (Festa expansion versus Madrid)...

Not in the plans, no. And nothing here really points to a good option, assuming you want to keep the pastures, and even then.... Most "workable" option may be to repurpose the closest pasture for a small flat that can fit between the ROW & the tracks. Either that, or put a Dippin' Dots stand in the circle by the queue entrance and call it a mini-hamlet. :) Kinda like Bavaria was.

Beyond hopes for a new hamlet...and we still have Festhaus Park and the other balloon test in play...really, I just don't want a Festa theme for this. If it has to be "Italy," I'd rather they figure out how to keep the asphalt path functional for backstage use while connecting the entrance into San Marco and the Garden of Invention. (Or perhaps do both... the bridge into Festa results in that "hamlet" being an odd-ball stub, and this coaster will only compound the traffic flow in/out of the area).

I really want a shade of green for this, maybe a Forrest color. Either that or copper.

Also I could see some new shops or restraunts in this vicinity even if not an entire new hamlet.

True, but where, saving the pastures? That also creates even more foot traffic challenges.

Personally, I'd seriously figure out a second path between San Marco and Festa via the Garden of Invention, and put the queue entrance off of that. That would also increase access to Festa overall, especially Rapids, which is a bit of a haul from the rest of the park if you're walking. You "may" also open up some access to Festa Field, depending on how high the track is and whether the space is usable enough for a small flat somewhere.

Yeah, backstage access, emergency access, etc. Though the circle plaza at the queue entrance has the access road cross right through it....but I'm sure they'd like to minimize "dual use."

Hence, I'd rethink the whole situation--access between San Marco & Festa, to the ride, to backstage, etc. Maybe they have and decided this was best/most cost-effective...but it's not ideal, IMHO.

I actually like that. Plus, you steal the volcano right out from under KD. And you have the Pompeii tie-in right next door. But then it really should be in San Marco versus mixed in with stunt bikes and the hot mess that is Festa.
