the ride must be built my 3/18/19. This makes it a 2019 attraction without a doubt. The last picture proves this.

What I read is that the permit expires on 3/18/19 (I'm sure it could be extended) that does not mean they have to be done in 2019. There is nothing stopping them from being done in 2018 for a 2019 open. Also that is March of 2019. That is just about in time for the open. Presumably they will be just be cleaning up by then.

Still we have no idea what they hell they are building.

That's just the date they need to start construction by. Doesn't need to be finished by then.

If this new attraction is for 2019, I hope the park starts teasing it come January like they did for InvadR at the beginning of 2016

If they advertise this like Verbolten at Mäch Tower's announcement, then they could be teasing this thing for the better part of two years.

I suspect the park will discuss something early. Anyone know how they view the crowd-sourced marketing components of InvadR? It seems like it was a success. If the park feels the same, I would expect something earlier than attractions built pre-InvadR, on schedule with whatever 2019 or 20 date they are working towards.

Heck, we have 68 pages of speculation here and really the only thing we know is they are looking to build an attraction, and it is sufficiently tall that it requires a JCC zoning ordinance height waiver and hazard review from the FAA. Especially after being pretty open about InvadR (and the ever increasing capabilities of the community to review public records post observations), it will be hard to walk that back and deny what could be a large coaster in their backyard.

I think it's something in the industry that's just changing and becoming the standard.

I remember participating in Hersheypark's Nantimi project (ended up being Fahrenheit) which lasted a good 4 months. Then there was the Project 2012 (ended up being skyrush) and that tease literally lasted an entire YEAR!

Not saying that's the standard, but I think this idea of teasing projects as they are getting started is something that's just going to become commonplace.

So a teaser campaign throughout the spring and summer, crowd source some stuff through the winter, build through the next summer, open in 2018 would really keep the interest there and building over a long time.

If you actually quoted my entire post, I strictly said that the highest point must be completed. The whole waiver is based on the highest point of the attraction. You can of course lengthen the waiver.

No it doesn't. The height waiver of both JCC and FAA clearly state that construction must start by that date, and the FAA added that within 5 days of the highest point being built they must notify the FAA.

No crowdsourcing for HOS this year, so maybe they found that PR method wasn't generating sufficient ROI?

I Assume we wont learn much more for a while unless something leaks.

Unless we get any kinda Chesapeake Bay Conservation study or any form of site plan proposal hearing in a JCC public meeting I would guess it’s going to be quite a while until we hear something.

that is why wild unfounded speculation based purely on desire and gut is so very important!

Will be fun to go back through when announced and see who was right, who was wrong, and who got at least part of it right.

I Hope its themed to something Drachen related or somehow incorporate it with the trains somehow like they did Verbolten.

I totally agree. Coaster-train interaction is amazing
