I betted a friend of mine an entire chick fil a meal that the ride would be named pantheon way back in June 2019. Safe to say I got a free chick fil a meal on announcement day.

The name makes no sense for a roller coaster.

There is no sense of movement, danger, force, or anything that has anything to do with a train speeding through its course.

There is a reason the nearby coaster is called “Apollo’s Chariot.” The ride is named after the chariot.

What does a group of Greco-Roman gods have to do with a ride? In my opinion, the name is just lazy. There were so many great options for themes from classical mythology. Instead we got, “fuck it, just name it after all of the gods, skip the theming, and take lunch early.”

Poking fun at an arguably much worse name. I think what we got was generous.

Pantheon in my opinion is a safe and fair name. I feel like on its own it serves a very Roman-y name that’s tied directly into what it represents. “A ride fit for the gods.” If Busch’s long term plan is to eventually do a Festa renovation and retheme it to Rome, it would make a whole lot more sense as time progresses.

Genuine criticism is always justifiable, I’m personally just more inclined towards “Pantheon” instead of something like “Centurion.”

What you said about the theming is as real as it gets tho

I mean by this naming convention, the name "Alpengeist" doesn't make sense either, it should be like "Alpengeist's ski lift". I think we can overlook roller coaster naming to an extent. As long as it makes some sense, it's fine with me.

I'm more worried about the station and plaza's lack of decoration than I am about the name. It's not even up to the standards of the rest of Festa.

Speaking of "Centurion", I wonder why Cedar Fair hasn't used that name yet, and what kind of coaster they'd use it for.
