First, great job to the Mission Impossible team for the covert work of sneaking into the secret lair and escaping with the plans. Kudos to @Zachary @Thomas @halfabee and @kingadam .

In regards to height & speed, the Parc Asterix model has (as mentioned in the article) a 147ft top hat. Cresting it, it achieves 76+mph on that first drop. So I think the estimate for MMXX is pretty accurate.

I still wonder (just thinking here) if the spike won't be taller...just for PR brag. Soaring with Dragon's spike is 197ft and their top hat is 187ft with a speed of 77+mph. So Intamin has the LSM's dialed in for those heights. And, with a mast, require that single FAA light on the spike that they applied.

The taller spike might also provide a bigger gravity boost, which might lessen the LSM electricity boost for that final forward run to the top hat. Just assuming as I'm no LSM coaster expert.

Ever wonder why a park would build an *almost 200ft coaster? I do. Why not another 10 feet? Would it really hurt the rest of the layout?

I'l be clear I'm just curious not complaining. This coaster is the first coaster with modern elements(outward bank curve, G-Stall) at the park. I just hope it has some nice ejector air (I'm spoiled by Mako).

I think you're right. Putting on my (blowing the dust off) PR hat....

What if they take the spike up to 200. And let's say that drop to the Rhine is (almost) 200ft. Now they can pump up Two 200ft Drops on One Coaster!

What @sunchild was saying was "in PR speak" they fudge numbers. As @madmax pointed it, it doesn't go all the way to the top. Yet, on the MM website - "You’ll blast off like SUPERMAN, launching straight up the track at 90 degrees, a full 415 feet in the air!"
So, if you called them it on it, they'd say "yes, you do go straight up a track that is, in fact, 415 feet in the air. We never said you go that high."

As I said, if the spike is a total of 200ft, you'll get pretty much the same slant.

I’m still confused by the picture in this slide and where everything is supposed to be laid out.

Also that spike looks way taller than AC and it isn’t far from it either

Dude, how is this anything like Tempesto? I'd take this beast of a coaster over a giga that breaks records but does nothing particularly unique or interesting any day!

For this instance, the highest point of elevation for this attraction is 315 ft above grade...above grade typically refers to a portion of a building OR HOME that is above the ground that it sits. Taking that into effect, it's pretty simple. Elevation is is just describing the height at which point others will see from their perspective of where they are on the ground. I.E. 1000 ft building located in Denver is still 1000 feet tall from those that are there seeing it there.....the coaster is going to be over 200 feet tall. Everything Busch Gardens can ever be approved for is by those who live in Kings Mill. (over half of those who approve BGW related projects live in this community). When BGW says 260+/-, they mean that's the height this thing will be visible on the ground, not this sea level jargon...

Don't get me wrong, from a technical perspective, all these facts are important, but you are kidding yourself if you don't realize that Kings Mill owns and controls everything that happens at this park.
