Vesuvius would really make sense if next to/tied into Pompeii, which it won't be, and also I think (fear) that this will be Festa themed. Who knows what we'll get, original Macro Polo intention notwithstanding...

this is a festa expansion ... there is no way it will be themed to pompeii or san marco in anyway; the only exception is marco polos restaurant ... last i checked this was not a concept thread

You know one thing that I think could be interesting is that maybe this actually is a Spain attraction but only the first part: as in they’re also building a bridge over the next few years (which was sort of shown recently as a possibility and the Spain section will go into Festhaus Park.

Just an idea but I wouldn’t exactly count it out if the park is gonna get some big time investment.

^ I would really want you to be right, but I just don't see it. Between the ride layout, the poor access to and usable space remaining in Festa Field, and the topography--they'd have a much wider Rhine crossing than even Ponte de San Marco--I think "it's a bridge too far" (no pun intended).

Now you may be right there's more investments planned and a "Spain" (hamlet of Madrid, etc.) on the horizon for Festhaus Park, but I think it would unconnected from this attraction, given the aforementioned challenges and that they are now calling this a Festa expansion. Maybe "Spain" was originally in consideration for Festa Field, but upon seeing the evolution of the ride layout, decided to disassociate Madrid here and rethink using Festhaus Park... (Or maybe Madrid was strictly the internal SEAS project name like someone once said, it's always been meant to be part of Festa, and that Spain would be a great theme for a hamlet was a coincidence--and/or some trolling, since they knew the name would get out there).

My current hope is that it has decent, period-appropriate (please no Tempesto anachronisms!) themeing that has some connection to Marco Polo, Venice, Italy, or somewhere he visited--within reason--I don't think a China theme works in a largely European park...but we did have Vikings invading Canada. (And I do care about themeing at BGW, but to your point ^^, if this were e.g. CedarPoint, I wouldn't even care about the track color. Not a dis on CedarPoint, just very different expectations).

Make Festa Great Again!

ha ... verbolten, tempesto, loch ness, and alpengeist are the most themed in the park in that order from greatest to least. the only thing invadr got was a large statue and a few signs, nothing like verboltens entire queue, station, or bridge

Romulus and Remus. The twin wolf brothers of Rome.

Actually.....that would be great for a dueling coaster.

Now I'm imagining an alternate universe where BGW got the GCI dueling coaster and BGT got the B&M hyper in 1999. "Romulus and Remus" wouldn't have deteriorated as badly as Gwazi did due to the different climate, and would likely still be standing today and not getting RMC'd.

Well, some folks are trying with Planet Coaster. At least this guy threw in a few elements. But I think PC is limited in pulling off the multiple forward/backward/forward thrust. It would be cool over the water...but not to be.

I've been riding roller coasters since 1984.

Still don't care how they're themed.
Don't totally agree but also don't totally disagree. If it's a strong enough coaster I enjoy it no matter the theming. I mean you could theme Apollo to a dribbling basketball and I would still rush to it. But theming can make a weak coaster more enjoyable. A case and point is I enjoyed Apocalypse at SFA largely because of how it played well with it's set peaces. Theming is also important to marketing and drawing people to the park.

I’m hearing the coaster is gonna be red like all the new Intamin coasters coming out 2020/2021 I bet this ride is gonna have a zero g stall and a wave turn, just like it’s counterparts coming out in 2021.
