General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

Come on guys didn't you pay any attention at the hearing. This is clearly a clone of the stratosphere I mean the guy from Kings Mill had pictures and everything. Why Zachary wasn't able to get a hold of them when a Kings Mill resident did is beyond me. I guess he just slipping in his old age.

Wouldn't mind a coaster themed to Ludwig's Revenge...

That's just a personal craving of mine. It'd fall flat in theming but I want trains that look like golden sleighs and spookyness.

We pretty much have 0 evidence aside from the whole “knife edge” thing and soil tests that this is a coaster. I hope that this thing is a Giga but we really have no clue at this point haha

Ok... Now we know 2020 is Pantheon. All we'll see now are train videos, semis carrying bent pipe and trees hanging from cranes.

@Zachary ...We gotta get some things happening on this thread! Leaks, Dippin' Dot rumors, whatever.....
We need to kick it up a notch!

So I looked into this by comparing the MMXX timeline with 2021.

In end-July 2018 we were all debating if project Madrid was cancelled or not (which, we learned was actually true!) (Example: https://parkfans.net/threads/project-2020-mmxx-pantheon.4887/post-169327)

But on August 9 we got a major update that the project was a reality.

So at this point we're tracking about the same as Pantheon..

Hopefully @Zachary has some news for us in August.

Bonus note: we're about 16 pages of posts behind Pantheon at the same time last year... Someone get on that.

This means we'll soon get to laugh at some people's insistence that this attraction is or isn't one thing or another.

Happy days ahead.

Although based on the timing my guess would be that this is the FAA height waiver. So we might just have some more information about the exact location is the highest point and but much else.

Keep in mind this time last year we got a partial site plan for Pantheon.

So I wouldn't be surprised if we got more than just an FAA height location.

I’m keeping my hopes low in case this isn’t anything huge. (Starflyer would still be cool!) But oh boy here we go again

It isn't an FAA waiver. I just checked the FAA website. My next guess would be an RPA buffer application which was another leak for Pantheon around this time.

That's the other possiblity I was considering. Maybe this was never a 2021 attraction and we just have confirmation that it's not coming until 2022. We've never had confirmation it was coming in 2021 that was always speculation. I really hope this isn't what it is.
