RE: Project 2018: RMC Hurler

Considering that the full ride time looks to be about a minute and a half I think capacity should be okay. Each train can hold 24 passengers and with each train entering the station and leaving you could add an extra 30 seconds for each dispatch. So I'm guessing somewhere around 720-960 riders/hour. 960 is pushing it with a dispatch every 90 seconds but somewhere over 720 is realistic by giving them 2 minutes between a dispatch since there are only 2 trains and 1 brake run.

Twisted Timbers update! Steel ledgers are all set on the barrel roll drop and the airtime hills near the end of the ride are taking shape!

Looks like they haven't made any progress on the drop since before Labor Day.

I like that they went with a light blue/aqua car for the trains. A nice yet subtle tribute to the Mirthmobile.

That's an AMC Pacer isn't it (don't mean to go off topic)

They've been adding ledgers to the 3(?) airtime hills on the backside of the coaster.

That picture doesn't show it very well, the one piece of metal at the very top and another behind that you can see just a bit of is new. From the proper angle they say: this sucker is rolling over starting HERE.

Also the lift catwalk (metal) except the top curvature is in, along with most of the railings.

Can confirm.

RE: Project 2018: Twisted Timbers (RMC Hurler)

Not surprisingly one of the main foci of the ACE Fall Thrillfest was Twisted Timbers. In addition to the interesting photos we took on the construction tour (forthcoming), we picked up some tidbits we wanted to share.

1. Gary Chadwick discussed the theming of the queue. He said they were building a huge prop for the entrance, and planned to include decorations throughout the line, as well.

2. The queue, itself, will take advantage of the existing structure, but will be shortened.

3. Starting next week, track work will pick up speed noticably, according to the RMC rep.

4. The only remaining structural elements to be built are the first overbank and the cutback. They are will be located on either end of the ride. The RMC rep told us that the walkway that goes around the left side of the ride to the back will ultimately be covered by the supports.
