Project 2018: Twisted Timbers

I'm not sure anyone is going to really know that until after opening. If you've ridden any of the other RMC coasters, your experience may not provide a good indicator since these are RMC's new Second Generation Trains. Everything prior has been their first gen trains. Though who knows, I'm not sure anyone really knows what has changed between the two generations.
At any rate, I had no problem with Wicked Cyclone's seats -- hopefully no reverse progress with the new ones. They're not as roomy as I305 but about the same as most steel coasters. I have issues on woodies when stapled and have been afraid to even breathe on El Toro lest it trip the sensor before we get moving, it's that close. I notice that they reassemble the trains on Grizzly with the bars slightly different.

Some of the updates of the coaster I saw:
- The planter and foliage in front of the coaster entrance have been removed
- The entrance has been pushed back closer to Juke Box Diner
- A new path runs parallel to the main queue before veering under the break run; possible Fast Lane queue?
- A new handicap entrance runs directly from the entrance plaza, under the overbanked turn, to the elevator
- A small building foundation has been poured near the exit; possible ride photo building?
- The queue inside the coaster's courtyard has been shortened, with a rectangular pad for switchbacks added
- The advertisement banners have been removed from the station exterior in preparation for its transformation to the "warehouse"
- The gates and queue poles within the station have been removed
Other changes to the area:
- The foliage between Rock Shop and Ricochet's entrance has been cleared; not clear what's happening here
- The overgrown bushes in front of Ricochet's sign have been removed
- As others have noted, Ricochet is being repainted green, orange, and brown
- The remains of the Grove Stage and the adjacent game booth have been completely removed
- The area's brick pavers have now extended all the way up to Americana
That's all I can find. What else do you all see? What do you think?

Also, how on earth are the comments on that post such a dumpster fire?! Who are all of these people (even with coaster related usernames) angry about Hurler's removal and convinced that Twisted Timbers is going to be worse? I'm so confused.

I generally hate shirts with coaster stats on them, and the first one here is no exception. I'm also not a huge fan of drawing direct comparisons between Twisted Timbers and Hurler. I think Marketing should be doing as much as possible to make the general public forget about Hurler, lest Twisted Timbers be written off as just a "refurbishment."
I sorta like the second one though. I would never, ever wear it, but the simplicity and the apple theme are kind of nice. And the park's name is actually spelled correctly there!

FWIW:
Everywhere I looked for Hurler's speed said 50 MPH, and that shirt says 45. 50 is the speed that results from 84' freefall. With the lift speed and friction I would guess 48-49. I think I've seen 47 listed for it before. 45->54 is 44% more kinetic energy, while 50->54 is only 17% more. 84 feet to 111 feet is 33% more potential energy and 83 to 109 is 31% more (Hurler's stats have usually said 84', the original teaser said 28' taller, later I heard 111' and the shirt says 83 and 109, or 26' more). 47 MPH to 54 is a 32% increase and more like it. I expect that 54 MPH number is quite accurate no matter what numbers marketing might tweak for the old ride.
And yes, they also misspelled Dominion.

Aside from being rude and nonsensical, that statement adds nothing constructive to the debate.

I think it's cool if someone wants to come out and say "Hey I did like Hurler back when it ran right" but we are way past saying bring it back. Plus those people don't even seem to realize we're getting what every park wants.
