My concern with humor during a safety spiel is that it must be done perfectly to maintain attention, without lessening how guests receive the information. Seeing people holding their phones in their hands to record their trip on Apollo bothers me - if they lose their grip on that device, it could very easily impact anyone behind them, in their face, causing permanent damage. The goose was mostly soft, a cell phone is not.
Being the intelligent person that I [like to think] am, I would not look to BGW to cover any damages, I would go after the owner of the device. BGW has done their due diligence in telling people no.
Also, please don't think I'm doom and gloom. I'm one of the more sarcastic individuals you may ever meet. But knowing that half of America doesn't listen to the safety briefing, and of the half that does probably 30% of them care... Make it entertaining (Southwest and their safety briefing!) but make sure it is taken seriously.

Well. Looks like BFE won’t be open for opening day. Got news from the town hall meeting today, and they posted it on their Instagram.

Plus it might open at the very end of the month so you may have to ride it in April. Not being smart or anything just being positive :)

Don't be so sure, MadridBot.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but there is more to the story.

Don't lose hope in March just yet...

what does this mean?? i remember seeing on here that in march they're doing a BfE media day where i'm assuming you'll be able to ride it...will it not open until april to flesh out glitches and other blips in the ride system? or are they just leading to an early opening surprise?

Historically, over the past few years attractions and shows have soft opened a week before, even earlier than the scheduled opening date as a testing period for trial and error. For example, Griffon soft opened on May 13th before the official opening on May 18th. Or, another time this has occurred was Verbolten having a soft opening weekend starting May 11th and then officially opening May 18th.

With a rumored early April opening, it wouldn't surprise me if the park can wrap up all construction a week after media day in order to have guests riding the attraction for a soft opening. This allows them to sort out issues and allow the ride ops to become comfortable with the operating procedures in order for a more smooth opening.

I'd add that we were not able to ride it on the March Hard Hat Day. It is not impossible that there will be another Media Day, once it is open, but the ride would likely soft-open before then. For example, we rode InvadR before it officially opened, and attended Media Day after that.

^ I am really wondering at this point about the “official“ pronunciation. The corporate director of marketing pronounced it that way one time at IAPPA, and she corrected herself every time after that, pronouncing it more like “air-uh” rather than “eye-er”, as they pronounced it in that commercial spot. Either way, they obviously are or were lacking uniformity, which is not good.

It's both:

Regardless, the pronunciation that rhymes with "fire" (as heard in the commercial) is blatantly incorrect. I think the name was a poor choice given how difficult it is for the park's American audience (and staff!) to say.
