I think that may be overstating the point.  You need more than glasses to be "state of the art."  As it has been mentioned they are still using an antiquated ride system that is prone to breakdown

You mean virtual reality goggles right? They may renovate the ride system as part of the project, one may never know until they confirm it.

When they made the annoucement at the Pass Member event one of the points of the presentation was that they were updating the ride system.

Another note just visited the ride website and while I'm not too impressed with the current plot and design it does have me interested on seeing where the development team could take the story.

The design aspect that you saw in the images is first drafts, concept art at this point. But in the coming months, they'll reveal a whole lot more and show us the final version of the designs soon.

As for the story, I know this will not happen but it would be pretty cool to have Addie the Fairy and the dragon be good friends during the journey. Usually it's a human boy and his dragon trope that's used way too often, having a fairy and dragon kinship would be neat and a nice twist to the old trope.

I'm really excited to see how this goes, having done Kraken VR with positive remarks, I now have really high hopes for this.

Likewise, though I've only ridden Kraken old school, not counting the VR POV video. But the POV did give me at least a sense for it, and it seems like it was done well.

Is it the same tech? (i.e. similar, or same company, etc. One month later you probably wouldn't have the same tech.)

...and "Éire" will give them so much richer story inspiration (IMHO).

I guess what I meant by spelling it right I mean that usually the park names rides like "Verbolten", "DarKastle", "Invadr" etc. At least here, even though they didn't have the accent on the "E", at least it's closest to the actual word. :)

Ah, I follow. You have a point there. No made up words or grossly omitted letters. Probably too short for them to mess with much. :)

And thank goodness the word was too short to be "creative" with it, though I can tolerate with the name InvadR. It's better than the other two names it was suggested for.

Forgive the double post but I have a good question. Since work on the ride has started, are they considering to change the que-line by getting rid of the Questor rock walls and transforming it into a castle hallway with glowing windows (sort of like DarKastle), or just leave the walls as they are?

This seems to be the perfect opportunity to really go all out with it.

I strongly doubt it. That would be an extra expense and the current theme seems to fit well enough with the story of the attraction.

Maybe so, but it would be great if they actually changed that hallway, for the park never did since Questor opened. Or at the very least add some thematic details to it like replacing those cave lights with castle torches and story themed tapestries.

I believe it is the same ride system, they're now updating it to accommodate the new VR. The "standard version" will most likely keep the classic ride system in the other theater; the website did say it's there for people who want to see a traditional version.

2 things.
1. Larry said he always wanted to see what this ride system could do. This scares me because, as I have said, it breaks the hell down. However I have also heard it is getting upgrades.
2. Without knowing how the Questor tunnels were engineered we have no idea IF they can be reasonably removed. It looks for all the world to be spray concrete. That is not easy to pull down, further what is underneath is likely structural. So it is entirely likely that we are stuck with the proportions. (not small IMHO) I would guess that since in times when the park could spend significant money on rides they did not do much to the tunnels they probably can not, easily. Frankly they did not make much sense for CSH or KAC. I expect given its budget, if possible they would have with the former.

This is, of course just my opinion based entirely on observation. (how Victorian of me!)

My first visit to the park was when they had Corkscrew Hill, and I thought the tunnel fit the ride very well. I would never have guessed it was designed for a different ride.

As for whether or not it fits with Eire, depends on how the story for the show (and preshow) begins.

Hopefully any mismatches can be fixed with décor.

I'm sorry this is probably a really dick move on my part, so I apologize in advance, but its queue not que. That word it just one of my biggest pet peeves.

Carry-on.

Whoops! Thanks Shane for the correction.

Zimmy you may be right about those walls, they can't be removed easily and that it's part of the structure. Maybe they can add details to it as I have said before.
