RE: Project 2017

Just, WOW. It was aligning so well with Tampa's Cobra's Curse and we know how Tampa and Williamsburg have a history of similar yet different rides... Hmm... WOW... Is anyone else envisioning a built from scratch hybrid?

RE: Project 2017

Excuse me as I remove my jaw from the floor. I never thought I'd see the day a woodie was built here!!

As for the "who" question, based on the spacing of those bents (how some are very close together and others are far apart), I'd bet money that this will be a GCI!

RE: Project 2017

I have heard about some theme park where you wear a VR headset while on an actual rollercoaster for added effect. I wonder if this might be a possibility as well, but rain would be an issue with the VR.

Edit: Here's the link its new. http://abc7chicago.com/entertainment/video-ride-this-real-rollercoaster-with-virtual-reality-headset/1246446/

I tried to warn you! LOL

Good observation. Some things to think about...

-What other types of rides usually have that setup (where you ride through the transfer/storage building)?
-What kind of coaster does the basic footprint of the ride look like?
-With the footprint of the ride in mind, how wide of an area are they clearing?

RE: Project 2017

I couldn't be more happy about this. Fits with the landscape of New France so much better than a Mack spinner. I wonder if they might theme it around the Le Scoot Lumber Company to make the log flume and roller coaster like sibling attractions. Whatever the theme is, there's a lot of potential for a wooden roller coaster in a Canadian-themed forest.

RE: Project 2017

I've always felt unsafe on wooden roller coasters. Something about them didn't seem quite right.

Cross your legs, Busch, you've got a woodie.
