Project 2014/2015?

I can officially confirm from sources that the balloon test was done in Festa Italia and appeared to be done over the games.

RE: Project 2014/2015?

If 2014/2015 goes the way 2013 has Busch Gardens wont be the place to go anymore. I had a feeling once I heard that Seaworld/Blackstone was going public with the stock it was gonna be bad news at least on the short term. I know they wanted to raise quick cash but trying to please the shareholders afterwards is a different story now we are going thru major pains with loss of well just look at what has happened at both Williamsburg and Tampa the past few months I would love to see Busch Gardens wind back in family hands who really cares about the parks and not a quick cash flow. Just my 2 cents worth.....

RE: Project 2014/2015?

My contact at the park just told me that the balloon test was actually for a 120 foot structure for the brewery that is to go on land behind it.

RE: Project 2014/2015?

Why would a balloon test be done inside the park? Thats like saying they did Mach Tower's balloon test in the Italy Parking lot. I highly doubt this test was done for the brewery, especially since the balloon test was done no where near the brewery property.

RE: Project 2014/2015?

What if they are going to use an underground tubing system to pump beer fresh from the brewery straight into the park? The building could be the main way-point before everything's pumped to the taps around the park?

:hijacked: Now this thread is going from rumors to concepts! :hijacked:

This is the only height waiver application on file with James City this year http://first.jamescitycountyva.gov/CaseTrak/searchdetail.aspx?caseid=63659

Only recent application by the park is to replace the floating bridge. They usually won't do the balloon test without an application.

Has anyone noticed all the spray painted dots on the ground in Fiesta lately? The last time I saw those type of dots was before the catapult was moved to make way for that broken down piece of junk. Anyway, the dots are located by the tea cups and the balloon launch thingy ( sorry cant remember the name).

Woodmaker, do you know nothing about the park?! Obviously the dots were added to give Festa* a nice polka-dot vibe per Scott's request to transform Festa into the new Scott's Kooky Karnival area next year, since it has seemed particularly and relatively lacking in glitter lately (which is a problem in its own).

Or...

They are installing large cannons to fit the current carnival theme that will shoot glitter at any Old Country-loving geese as they fly by Apollo's Chariot (as well as any proper BGWFan)!

OR...

You're on to something. Interesting find! Don't know if that means anything big or if it's of any significance at all, but the Katapult dots are a good indication of something planned. With that balloon test around there not too long ago, I am a bit intrigued to see what this means exactly. I'm still holding out for a well-themed Disk'O Coaster. :p Assuming Scott's glitter hasn't engulfed the Rides department yet...

You want dots? PeterR. & I tracked them down. Here you go...

RE: Project 2014/2015?

Like I said earlier, the balloon test was done very near the arcade, so seeing dots in that general area by the tea cups and Splashus Maximus is not very much of a stretch.

Anyone thinking of a Festa Italia makeover? Maybe that is why the sign was taken down? Make room for a new sign, along with a fresh coat of paint everywhere and a new flat ride or two in the area.

The colors and placements did correspond with some things. Anyone want to take a guess? :p

Utilities? Only thing that immediately comes to mind. Orange - communication lines, red - power lines, blue - potable water lines, green - sewers/drainage. It's been a long time since I did any civil engineering so I'm unsure of what double dots might mean.

What could they possibly be putting in that tiny little area?
I don't know their actual purpose, but I'm telling you: I would be amazed if they got this thing:

I feel like lots of theming could be easy to add, and this would certainly be popular. It could be possible: all they would have to do is clear out a thin, long strip of land, using the current land in question as well. Will it happen? Probably not. Do I want it to? Heck, yeah!

RE: Project 2014/2015?

I wonder what the chance of a surprise off-season re-theme would be? I wouldn't be surprised if they opened up next season with something new that was unannounced in order to get some publicity.
