I think they have done pretty well with it. There has been at least 4 people on the platform checking restraints though, if they begin to skimp on this and use less, there will certainly be misery. Here's hoping they keep using a large operations crew.

That's exactly what I was hoping for! Especially with Carl acknowledging the concerns for capacity.
Hopefully this continues for at the vert least, the rest of the season.

I rode Tempesto twice on 5/17. Sunday morning is a great time to ride it. we had a 5 minute wait the first ride and a 10 minute wait the second time. I really enjoyed the ride! I know there are a lot of whiners out there complaining that: its not an original ride, the que is too slow, they don't like the restraints, Carl made a mistake etc..etc..etc. If you don't like it - don't ride it. I'm happy that Carl found a ride that was within budget for the Park and made it happen. Thanks BGW!

I've also seen many comments on the length of time for the ride. I timed it at 44 seconds from start to stop. I compared the ride time to Apollo's and Griffon. If you take off the "slow clank-clank-clank" to the top of these roller coasters and time just the fast part of the ride, Apollo's is 1:15 from the top to the brakes at the end and Griffon is 50 seconds from the drop to the brakes at the end. So, in my opinion, Tempesto is of comparable length to the other coasters. I didn't time it, but if you took out the stop & drop from Verbolten and timed just the fast coaster part, it is probably shorter than Tempesto. And thrills per second on Mach Tower - it is a 5 second drop.

1. If someone doesn't like Tempesto, they don't have to ride it- but they have to look at it. And it's not the best looking coaster, especially not so close to Apollo's Chariot.

2. Why did Carl need to find a coaster to fit the park's budget? They just added a $50 million E-ticket launch coaster only three years ago. In my opinion, Busch Gardens shouldn't have jumped as soon as they got ahold of a coaster they could afford.

3. Even though the chain lift isn't part of the thrill, it's part of the coaster experience. I think most of the public would count it as part of the total ride time.

4. Even if you're just counting "thrill" time, Apollo's Chariot is still more than half a minute longer than Tempesto- that's over 50% longer.

5. One of the most common complaints about Griffon is its short duration. So comparing it to Tempesto, especially when Tempesto is still shorter, doesn't really help its case.

6. Comparing Tempesto to a drop tower, let alone one of the park's most disliked attractions, isn't going to help its case either.

It's your opinion and all, and it's awesome that you like Tempesto. But that doesn't mean you have to call those who disagree with you "whiners," because, as you can see above, there are two sides to every argument.

I just spent 5 days at the park (including Memorial Day weekend, ugh).  My first ride of Tempesto was on the Saturday of Memorial weekend.  The queue was out the front entrance of the ride, and the signage there indicates an hour wait.  We waited an entire 35 minutes, which I was quite impressed with.  My second ride was on the following Tuesday, which was pretty much a walk-on experience.  I found the ride to be underwhelming.  Rode it, checked it off the list, and don't feel the pressing need to ride it again.  If it's a walk-on, perhaps, but I wouldn't wait to get on.  It's not a BAD ride; don't get me wrong.  It's just not a ride that offers much, in my opinion.  My first ride was in the last seat, and it did have a moment on the launch where you're hanging for a moment where it's quite enjoyable, but honestly that's the highlight of the ride.  I'd rather just ride Apollo's or Alpengeist 30 times in a row.

From what I have heard, and this is only hear say, the coaster cost the park very little if anything at all because of all the problems with Mach Tower, the company was gonna have to pay back Seaworld Group but they settled on this new coaster anyone know of this is true or not?

I rode it yesterday and noticed the padding around the comfort collar strap already tearing away at the buckle...
is it tearing away or just the opening for the real nylon belt underneath, the outside is rubber for comfort not suport
