How the hell are you guys seeing OTSRs? The seats are all black and the angle makes it impossible to tell what the harness system is. Unless there's another image I'm not getting from all this.

If you wanna message me for said second pic, I'm down. :p
There was a different picture posted, Dan. The coaster 100% had OTSR's. Its a lapbar with over the shoulder straps that clip/buckle into the lap bar.

I don't thing those OTSR's look too bad. As long as the are soft it should be alright.

It's not entirely about comfort. I can live with the OTSR's, they look fairly comfortable judging by the pictures I've seen. The real issue for me (and I imagine a majority of the PFN members) is the horrendous capacity issue the restraints will create...

This ride already has capacity issues to begin with. That's what you get with this type of ride. Since i already know capacity is going to suck comfort and fun become priority for me.

I don't understand why the park would even care about keeping this ride under wraps. Even if it weren't a clone, anyone driving past the park on Route 60 can see exactly what the coaster is going to do. It's not exactly top-secret, hidden-by-trees to begin with. Maybe they are just using the process they have with new attractions in the past(?) Why not begin advertising for this long in advance?

This is what everyone has been arguing and pondering about for about the last 100 pages of this thread.

Yeah I don't have time to read 100 pages. I just started re-browsing the forums very recently.

Oh well you haven't missed all that much. The park has said almost absolutely nothing, being the only mention of the ride coming at last year's Q4 results conference. Other than that absolutely nothing. This thread is pretty much everyone's speculation of why they think the park is doing what they are doing. That and a few removed images

The best suggestion I have read in this thread is because it has such a low rider capacity and will have dreadfully long wait times, they decided not to promote it. They are doing a great deal of marketing to states north of Virginia. Imagine if you booked a vacation to Virginia and spent half a day waiting in line for Tempasta. Not a good experience...

This also happens to be the main reason it doesn't belong at BGW.

I personally hope it has long lines so I have an easier time getting on the other coasters. Does anyone think this will be the case?

It's going to have well less than 1/3rd of the capacity of Apollo's Chariot, so I don't doubt it. The issue will be if BGW decides to trim the line at a certain point to prevent overflow, since the queue in the plans looked to be only long enough for maybe a 1 hour line.

The plans actually had estimated wait times on them, and all the way to the end of the queue(not including the planned extended queue) was a 2 hour wait.

Getting back to the OTSR issue, I think there is another point that has been made here. For all of the ride's flaws, since it is a Premier, it could have had inversions with just lap restraints, which would have been new and cool for the park.

Also, everything I have heard about the OTSRs makes me think they could be painful. I remain hopeful, however.

Just remember: cool flat; not crappy coaster.

Hey we're only 4 days away from the official announcement. Given I can see the future here's how it will go:
"We'd like to thank you all for coming to this event. Today Busch Gardens will be announcing a new record breaker for the park: Tempesto. This amazing roller coaster will not only break records for worst capacity roller coaster in Virginia, which was previously KD's Volcano, but it is also record breaking in that you can find the same exact experience in select locations around the country. Also we've innovated in how unnecessarily close we can get two coasters when there is ****ing plenty of room elsewhere in the park. We designed it that way so you can actually throw items such as small stones or a two by four at the riders of Apollo's Chariot! We hope you love Temepesto as much as we do!" *Carl Lum sprints out of the room being chased by angry mob*

The OTSR's are basically vests with ankle guards. Assuming the ride is relatively smooth the only problem I see in the new harnesses is getting stapled. The picture makes the vest look like its spaced far enough apart that it shouldn't even touch your shoulders (unless you have a big chest) let alone give you headbanging.

With these new harnesses I actually hope this means a lower height restriction.

^Capacity will also be a problem. Having to check two different restraints isn't going to make the loading process any faster.
