Honestly, the tree buffer between the parking lots and Apollo is much more important to me than the tree buffer between Apollo and Festa, but it's always sad to lose some foliage.

There was a time when the park management had Bolliger & Mabillard alter the design of Alpengeist in order to spare a few trees. I think about that when I see pictures of felled logs, however small, at the site of the park's forthcoming clone coaster. To me, it's no joke, it's just another sad reminder of misplaced priorities and a lack of both foresight and hindsight.

The fact that they are removing trees that would be out of the way of the ride, and most likely out of the way of Construction is what scares me. I just hope they'll replace at least some of them.

... It's not simply the idea of removing the trees that bothers me. Nature removes trees all the time. But when nature does it, the removal is usually followed by new and healthier growth. I'm not sure that's what's coming out of this...

The track is a primarily blue color, it has a hint of green in it, but is mostly blue.

All construction documents must have an Edge of Work line. Normally this line is well beyond what is needed to allow for staging of equipment and access paths. Unless specific trees have been delineated within this Edge of Work extent they're fair game for removal. As much as it sucks, this amount of deforestation isn't even remotely surprising.

Honestly since it's Festa this deforestation doesn't even phase me. Any other part of the park would be another story.

Track already on site?!? May have to make one last trip up this week before I leave the country!!!

Keeping Apollo's Chariot's beauty in tact seems to be the last thing on the park's mind right now.

I like it, it isn't as bright and outstanding as I originally thought, which is good.
