RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

^ Festa is hardly Ryōan-ji, Party Rocker. The issue is not the definition of gardens or the taxonomy of shrubs and trees, the issue is that some people aren't so keen on the way this new ride is being sited at the park. There was little beauty in that area of the park before this project, natural or man-made, and now there's even less. If we thought that the landscaping was being sacrificed for a well-designed attraction, or for a more pleasant environment in that hamlet then I doubt so many would complain.

Desperately trying to gainsay everything that people post is not the same as having a discussion.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

I was not debating that. I was saying that gardens don't equal trees all the time.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

No trees doesn't mean "no garden," but a wide view of a parking lot doesn't really scream "garden."

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

Look:

Gardens=Landscaping /\ Lanscaping=Flowers, Bushes, Trees, Grass, etc.

Therefore: Gardens=Trees

It's simple people.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

Yes, do you have a problem? It's a legitimate concern.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

I am always surprised how often this particular topic comes up.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

It's one of the main aspects of the park, I don't understand why it would be surprising.

Ok, let me add another part of my opinion. I am no way shape or form in love with its location. In fact, I loath it. Why put it in such a small space with trees instead of bigger already cleared place behind the festhaus? So, I am not at all for its location, but sadly there is nothing we can do about that now. The trees are cut already, so what is done is done. I'm saying that in my personal opinion, it looks ok without the trees. I want trees, I wish they were still here, but I am not going into a state of panic now that they are gone. So, to sum it all up, I want the trees, but I'm not super upset that they're gone.

Can we get back to the part where this coaster might have a nasty case of floating footers because it's literally being built on the side of a hill?

To play devil's advocate about the trees, the ride will probably have an exciting presence from the entry road as patrons pay for parking.

you can see them in the plans already?

As for everyone trying to figure out the exact name of the color of the track, it is RAL 5018, high gloss finish. Go look back at the plans Zachary posted.

Personally I am quiet glad they did not pick this location. It already once held a large roller coaster and I have always held out hope that it will once again house one. Placing something of this low caliber on that location would be a tragedy.

It's no secret that many people want Festa to have a re-theme. A re-theme by itself won't necessarily bring in people. A large ride should go with it so that more people are interested. Especially when your re-theme is more about improving what you have and not changing it entirely. This was the only space in Festa they had.

Either way, I'm not sure why people are concerned about Festa anyway. Most people say they avoid it except for Apollo's Chariot.
