Yes, and that was quite the string of emoticons, there!

I believe two painters died while working on BBW. One died from his vehicle overturning, sending him plummeting to the ground, and the other died from lack of communication: he was painting, the ride was being tested (I don't know how that scenario is ever possible ), and the train collided with the painter and decapitated him.

There are rumors that a park employee working in the Bavarian village the ride travels through was hit in the head and decapitated by a train going through the course. This report was nothing more than that, a rumor, a false one at that.

That's a quote from Chris' history of the BBW. I guess we can discard that accident as a rumor, then. Sorry about that. I know I have seen talks of this accident (rumor) online before, but now they are conspicuously absent.

Here is my prediction for construction....

When the parks opens in late March/early April, all we will see are ALLOT of stakes and markers of many colorful sorts stretching across the entire BBW site.

In Mid June, bulldozers and excavators will appear on site and begin clearing the remaining trees for the new site and digging the foundation of the 26,000 sq. ft. building.

By Mid July, a square like hole in the ground, about 20 ft below the existing grade's peak will begin to have formers for a to the level of the ground foundation.

By this point drills will be on site, digging places for the footers within the building and outside, and drainage lines from the new 26,000 building will be laid.

conversion of the BBW station and maintenance bays should be well underway.

By End of July, Most of concert should be getting close to being finished.

By Mid August, first signs of track should be appearing with early supports.

First of September, an announcement of the coaster should be made.

Mid September, the first station, transfer, and storage track will be placed.

September into October will be a quiet staging period due to high crowds coming into the park.

By end of October, cranes will be onsite to begin vertical construction beginning with the dark ride portion which I trust to be about 1,200 ft of track and very twisty! Unless they build a wall behind the length of the "Der Autobahn" the view of construction from there should be amazing!

By Christmas, the indoor track-work should be complete to allow the erection of the buildings structure.

January, all the remaining track-work should be completed by the months conclusion, the most difficult part being the finale over the river.

Testing would being in late February to mid March and the coaster would open in time for a early May opening. I'm guessing there may be some delays though so I look forward to a Memorial Day opening weekend...

But that's just what I think....

There our allot of logistical thing I definitely have thought of like access to the site is going to be difficult during the summer with the trains and concerts going on...

I think that the announcement would come slightly before September 1st. They announced Griffon before that and I think the construction of this coaster will be harder as it deals with more terrain and is longer, thus I think they would start construction earlier than they did with Griffon.

Hopefully there will be construction updates, the least they could do is let a coaster enthusiast website in to take pictures and video (ex. Coaster Crew-I305, RCPro-Cheetah Hunt although I am not sure if RCPro can go into the construction site, or if they are just taking pictures over construction walls and that kind of stuff).

Maybe BGWFans? I bet Chris has room in his schedule. Now if only someone from the park would invite us. Hmm...
We know you're out there. Watching, reading, and maybe even listening...

RcPro and BGTnation take pictures from afar...They take pictures from the serengeti express, from the deck of the building adjacent to the new queue building, and over and through open construction walls. The pictures from the track lot are taken from the perimeter fence with a telephoto lens. Also, a plus for cheetah hunt fans, bgt is open year-round. So access to the site is favorable compared to bgw. source-rcpro webmaster

I do not think bgw will ever let any member of the public in to take pictures during the winter break(jan-late march). I'm sure they will stick to their intermittent updates like in years past....:p

You are forgetting one thing. Construction Tours. There were 2 or 3 during the time Griffon was under construction where the outside media were taken on a tour around the construction site.

Id pay good money for a tour of the 2012 coaster.

I would still like to see a web cam. It's not hard to do and BGW already has some. Then the pictures wouldn't be limited to only when the park is open.

Thats what I thaught about RCPro but I was not sure, but they could at least let someone, either from this site, or another fansite in like KD did with I305. They might even get more people like this, the I305 updates got me really excieted for the ride.
