later part of this season id say end of july or early august if not sooner like june because it will take a long time to errect a coaster.

I would say immediately after Memorial Day weekend. To me, it seems, they have large amount of grading to deal with....

I'll go as far to say that when the park opens in March there will be a nice long wall already up blocking the BBW area.

yeah probably it takes atleast 6 months to start, the best thing is if they start early in the year we will get more and more hints of the ride like we might be able to see part of it.

In an interview John Reilly said to expect seeing land clearing and or constuction during the summer of 2011. He did say land clearing :s I hope they dont clear to much land.

^ If your talking about Coaster Crew he did say that but in another one that was after the date they announced the new ride, he said an approxamite date would be summer. In the Coaster Crew one he did say sometime in 2011. He did this one a few weeks before he left.

I didnt think about the building, I guess to put a building in a woddsy area you do need to take out trees.

They probably have to work on the grading of the woods in the area for this building. We know that the terrain is ridiculous through the former BBW ravine. I hope that the ride will be able to utilize the terrain for its low-to-the ground sections, or, almost all of it. That way, there won't need to be cheesy tunnels built like at Cheetah Hunt. I love tunnels on a roller coaster, but those just look aesthetically awful.

Well the ride will mosly be in a building, so I dont know how much terrain they could use

What a waste!

Thats what I was thinking! The BBW area has amazing terrain and they are wasting it with a building.

I dont think its a waste completely. Theyre partially utilizing the same terrain and it should be very interesting to see the dark ride elements!

So, I was thinking about some construction things today. Once they do the grading would they build the track for the building first, then build the building around it, or build the building and move the track into it. It seems like it would be easier to have all the track setup before the building is put up. But then again I'm not a civil engineer, so I'm hardly an expert on construction designs.

I would imagine they would lay the track and then build the structure around it. Not that I'm a civil engineer, either, though.

Well, if they use the "old BBW village area" for the building; the terrain is not all that exciting. However, through the back woods area is ideal for "near miss" tree elements.

FYI- I feel sorry for the folks on the construction site down in the BBW ravine areas when the ride is being constructed. Think about it.. marshy, muddy, and full of mosquitoes! Ick!

The spirit of the Wolf will reek havoc. Chaos is released to those who dare break the soil on this sacred land.... the chaos is - mosquitoes!!!!!

My guess is that they will get started as soon as possible. We already know survey work is being done.. soon the grading will begin.

I am in agreement that they would start soon. This coaster will be a bit trickier to construct than Griffon, more formerly known as the unexciting parking lot coaster of Busch Gardens. Mosquitoes will suck, but let's not forget the spirit of the painter that died while rehabbing BBW - if you believe in that sort of thing...

Whats sad is there probably is a curse, Watch the new ride break down all the time because of it...

If the new coaster and the new Oktoberfest displeases the spirit of the Big Bad Wolf, he will haunt his former domain and attack with little annoyances and inconveniences. (Break downs, power failures, thunder storms, etc.)

He was hit by a train.

Also, if I remember correctly, there was another BBW death in 2003 when a cherry picker overturned, killing a painter.

Someone should make a thread about injuries.....

But anyway back to the 2012 coaster, if you look at POVs of Blue Fire, the dark ride sections were pretty cool, I just hope the coaster is not a compact coaster and will be spread out and use the land that was left by BBW.
