I think everyone is getting a little too caught up in this whole "uber" debate. The name doesn't really make sense for a roller coaster no matter what you think uber means.

The ride shall be named Verbolten, and the special guest at the grand opening will be Michael Bolten. He will sing some of his hits.

I see, so this is gonna be like Rock n Roller Coaster, but with Bolten in place of Aerosmith and instead of retro car trains it'll be VW's. I hope you like Vekomas!

[/sarcasm]

Michael Bolton: Yeah, well, at least your name isn't Michael Bolton.
Samir: You know, there's nothing wrong with that name.
Michael Bolton: There *was* nothing wrong with it... until I was about twelve years old and that no-talent @$$ clown became famous and started winning Grammys.
Samir: Hmm... well, why don't you just go by Mike instead of Michael?
Michael Bolton: No way! Why should I change? He's the one who sucks.

I have no clue where Busch came up for "Mach" meaning "Speed"

"Mach number (Ma or M) (generally pronounced /ˈmɑːk/, sometimes /ˈmɑːx/ or /ˈmæk/) is the speed of an object moving through air, or any other fluid substance, divided by the speed of sound as it is in that substance for its particular physical conditions, including those of temperature and pressure. It is commonly used to represent the speed of an object when it is travelling close to or above the speed of sound."

Mäch translates to mighty. We're not talking about speed here.

I mean it could be both Mighty Tower or Speed Tower, most guests would most likely refer it as mach tower meaning speed.

Throw away the whole mighty thing. Mächtig means mighty, not Mäch. Google translate takes words and finds the closest thing to it. This is not correct, http://translate.google.com/?hl=en&tab=wT#de|en|Mäch.

As far as speed... it kind of does. But just as much as Miles Per Hour does. It’s a measure of speed, not a word meaning speed. So it’d be like MPH Tower... not to catchy.

I mean most rides dont exactly mean what the wording does. They might of called it Mach tower because Mach has something to do with speed and tower because its a tower.

"Mach Tower", "Uber Bahn", "Verbolten?" Not too long until BlackStone decides to change the park's name to "Ye Olde Europe Land!" :dodgy:

I dont think its blackstone. It seems blackstone just provides the money and Busch entertainment company, which blackstone bought, is making the discisions.

I guess I'm being too hard on BlackStone, It is probably just a coincidence that after BlackStone bought Busch Entertainment that BGW began to change drastically. I originally assumed a few people from BlackStone took over some positions from Busch Entertainment employees and decided to change up the park. Either way, I'm incredibly dissatisfied about the recent changes happening to the park.

Yeah i thought that at first too then i found out they bought the entire company so its still being run by the same people, and the reason there are so many changes is probably due to the people at busch entertainment wanting to do all these changes but amheusur busch not wanting to spend the money.

I still think Blackstone has something to do with it. The park never made any decisions like this before the buyout. It can't be pure coincidence.

I really don't want to be this person but ya'll have left me no choice............

Could all of you please just stop complaining! We have an award winning park that in the last few years has added more to the park than it did in the last 10 years yet it seems like all of you can only find things that you think are wrong. Get over yourself. I know this gets said on just about every theme park forum but apparently it has to be said again.....the park is not going to just cater to us...it has a general public to please which actually gives a lot more money to the park than we do. Personally while i feel some of the names might not be the greatest, the park has really done nothing in my mind that commends this type of criticism from a group of people that say they like the park more than most. I mean why would you be posting on this website? Point is be grateful for the park you have. I'm so sorry that the name of the ride and the rumored theme isn't exactly what you wanted. The park is investing MILLIONS of dollars for what will be a world class coaster and nothing like any of us has ever seen before. Instead of complaining about the name and theme why don't you appreciate that SEA even cares enough to want to now routinely want to add attractions......

I'm sorry but someone had to say it.

Lets get back on topic.

Vaughn, whoa there. Not all of us are complaining about the park and lumping everyone together is not the way to go.

Personally, all I said is that the style of naming has changed as of late. I also think the coaster will be amazing, as the drop ride. I only wished the names (that we know of) were more unique and exciting is all. I doubt that only people on the forums and online media sites are thinking the same thing when the survey was sent out.
