I was very upset to read the information on this ride. In all honesty, based on the information from Cheetah Hunt, I wasn't all that excited about this coaster. I was worried about the name after BGT settled on Cheetah Hunt, but I didn't think it could be this bad. "Uber Bahn" and "Black Forest Turbo?" None of these names on the survey are appealing at all. I would like to write in 0 for each name, and I sincerely hope they decide on a different name... and theme. I know it has been said before on the thread, but a racing theme in the Black Forest section is probably the most retarded idea the park has had (including FoF). It destroys the theme of the entire park by having an Autobahn themed premiere attraction in a predominantly 17th-18th century themed park. I really hope that the park gets their act together before they destroy the park even more than the bad decisions that they have made recently have.

Back when Griffon was being built, BGW copyrighted a bunch of names- Iron Eagle, Volitare, and of course Griffon. So if that pattern is right, Verbolten (assuming the names suggested are indeed the ones being tossed around) is obviously what BGW plans to use. The others are there to just throw people off. Again its a survey.

One more thing that should calm everyone down.

There is no way that this ride's theme is undecided at this point in the game. Too much of the ride revolves around its theme (themed bridge, event building) those things are planned to go along with whatever theme it is. Dark elements need to be designed and planned. The themed bridge obviously isn't going to just be some random thing that's theming can be changed. Everything is planned out. So when this survey has names that are just all over the place and in my eyes a very loose description that can be changed in many ways by a few words. I can say without a doubt the name has already been chosen, the theme is picked out, and that survey is just out there to prevent a Cheetah Hunt type problem for the park.

Amen...

It seems almost impossible that they could make such a huge mistake in theming on a major attraction like this. Just across the way we have "Mach Tower". The name alone screams of someone trying to update the park. If this is the beginning of a 21th century Oktoberfest then count me out. That would be a huge misstep Busch Gardens. Anybody remember they changed the background music to that annoying Europop? Was that just a harbinger of things to come?

Maybe they are thinking this is a way to bring back "LeMans"? My fear is this is another "Europe in the Air". A modern themed attraction awkwardly placed in a decidedly 17th century hamlet. Come to think of it, EitA, the flouescent paint in Ireland, Mach Tower, and the updated BGM thoughout the park are all changes that diminish the "old country" feel of the park. Much of the park's charm comes from the detailed and immersive theme. These kinds of changes dilute that. Why would someone change the very thing that makes them successful? Anyone can build an amusement park, it takes great talent and effort to build a proper theme park.

Have there been any additions that have'nt been modernizing?

Please let it not be so... I want to be wrong.

I still don't understand why they are coalescing the Autobahn and Black Forest themes. Black Forest is a great attraction to fit Busch Gardens' theme; the Autobahn isn't.

Most of the ride takes place indoors...
Outdoor area with drops & turns...
Multiple world firsts...
Huge dark ride area...
Multiple launches...

If you take out the multiple launches part, you could say that I'm describing TH13TEEN, couldn't you? I'm trying as hard as I can to think of other rides that share the characteristics I've listed above and the only one that seems to come close is TH13TEEN... :-/

The sole flaw in the conjugation of the ideas presented by you posters is.... What is Oktoberfest going to look like after its revamp? Is it totally going to be destroyed to the point that this will actually fit?

Good point, forgot about that one.

THIS. I still hate the look of the concept art for the Oktoberfest revamp. As I said when it was first released: It has a childish, candy land look to it that I'm not at all a fan of. For those of you who don't have a picture of it in your head:

If everone would sit back and take a look at the changes to the park over the past year you can see what they are trying to do simple make the park more MODERN! So the new coaster may fit better than what we think.

Look at EITA
Futuristic Flight

Mach tower
And just look at the concept drawings of oktoberfest
and the new coaster names.

I really think they are trying to go in a new direction with park some will love and some will hate it.
We will just have to wait and see.

I'm right with you Swiftus.

That rendering scares the hell out of me. Don't get me wrong here I'm not against change, but those colors are garish and smack of the overlay that was attempted in Ireland. Enough with the preschool colorway! The purple shutters are atrocious. If this continues you can kiss the "most beautiful theme park in America" goodbye.

I hope the powers that be really do read these forums. I love that they are enthusiastic about improving the park, but I also hope they can see beyond the desire to make an impactful change and make ones that enhance instead of overpower. Purple and flourescent paint schemes diminish the charactor of what's there. Maybe this is a european design team? Their culture views colors in a much diferent way than us ugly Americans.

I'm going to take a wait and see approach to the Oktoberfest changes right now. Basing all our criticisms on that one picture isn't fair in my opinion when nearly all of Oktoberfest is getting a makeover. For all we know we could be in utter awe when the park opens in the spring at the changes made.

I've posted video from the meeting on the main page if anyone is interested.

That's for posting the video. It's great to be able to watch it without scribbling down everything I hear. :)

That is where we as fans are left on a hanging nail. Is it simply going to be the manifestation of what they "feel" it should be outside of what it rather ought be. The theme of the coaster could be the centerfold of the "new and improved" Oktoberfest.

EITA is no more than an abortion of what was a failed attempt at a clone of the highly successful Soarin' In The Air. My opinion on that one is widely known.

Sadly though there are not many purists as us left around. "The Old Country" as we know is more than likely going to change to a tourist trap style to be as eye catchy as possible for the 1-3 time a year guests. That is just my opinion. It seems to be the path that the majority of parks go after a while; even as my beloved Disney has with all of this princess and high school musical nonsense.

Yeah i had the same idea but when i heard that a beer garden is going in then that changed m mind a bit.

I am still holding out hope that the park execs will hear our pleas and make this attraction decent (I really am not expecting anything great). I was disappointed that the new ride would have a theme entirely separate from the Wolf, but I guess that's OK. As long the themeing isn't as tacky as it appears it could be, I think (hope) Busch will realize the erroneous nature of having a modern Oktoberfest in a park built on the Olde Country, and I hope their answer for making all of this fit is not to entirely change the park.

I know, i personally was a little saddened by the themeing. Please excuse my spelling.

It seems like someone is trying to turn Busch Gardens Europe into EPCOT. First we have a terrible Soarin' knock off and now we're getting a copy of Test Track too? This theme and these names are baffling to me. The theme of the park is what makes it so special and whoever is making these decisions is really hurting that image.
