That's what I was thinking, so it would be easy to get well designed restraints. I don't have any problems with any restraints at BG, so I hope they know what they're doing.

the only restraints that i have a problem with is Nessie's...and that's only because you're so restricted on arm movements...and none of the guests actually know how to wear them...we're constantly having to unlock the harnesses because people's arms are getting stuck in them.

You learn from riding other arrows with similar harnesses... And if Zierer nails this coaster they could be a factor in the coaster industry for future rides. How much is this ride going to cost? I can imagine more than $10 mil but it can't be more than an Intamin ($20 mil)... It shouldn't be any more than $100 mil like Exped. Everest, lol.

From here:
The star attraction of the park is Wicked, the LSM tower launch coaster. Wicked was manufactured by Zierer. The ride cost ten million to build and nearly 1.5 million of that was just for the sixty foot deep pilings and foundations. The LSM’s in the launch tunnel use a refrigeration system to help keep the heat down. Wicked features a unique observation window into the control system room from the queue line. The trains are 7,000 pounds unloaded and the side and bottom wheels are spring loaded to help keep wear down. There are six cars and five of them can operate at a time.

Wicked has a great track layout but the experience is nearly ruined by a horrible restraint design. Yes, it does what it is supposed to do by keeping riders secure in the car but it is one of the most uncomfortable designs I’ve ever experienced. The front row wasn’t as bad as the back but each time, mid-ride, the restraint would clamp down even tighter than before and I thought I was going to be cut in two pieces. Maybe if the end were a little more rounded it would be better. Nevertheless, Wicked was my favorite ride in the park, closely followed by BomBora.

I don't like the sounds of that...

I wouldn't worry. The restraints on Wicked are different than their ESC trains.

I wish Nessie would get restraints like the ones on the boomerang coasters. They are alot easier than Nessies current restraints and IMO are not nearly as rough as some arrow coasters can be.

Well i305 was $25 Million, it couldn't possibly top that... Could it?

Hopefully, based on the current ESC's, we should be looking at a lap bar

The pictures show a lap bar. There's no reason for OTSR...

Can the park make any demands with the design of the trains? I can't imagine they're mass produced and have no flexibility.

No coaster, minus maybe Vekoma SLC's are "mass produced"

But the trains quite often are. Intamin, B&M, Arrows all have had relatively standard train design for thier various types of coasters. Only rolling out new designs periodically. The bigger the company, the more designs they might have.

However, if Zierer (sp?) is looking to move into the space of bigger, custom rides, they may roll something out for this we have not seen yet. Perhaps something they have been working on for a long time and waiting for a big project worthy of it.

I just can't fathom the fact that Zierer is going to go from kiddie rides to a top class coaster without gradually working their way up in the business. Busch has never just pulled a random manufacturer out of a hat and said "You guys are going to build our brand new, world class multi-launching coaster that will feature many firsts and a drop over our famous Rhine River, even though your tracks aren't built for it." I'm saying this because I've been told otherwise within the park.

Haha, umm yeah, I may be one of those with that arm problem....

Anyways, personally looking at Cheetah Hunt, it was a total flaw in many ways..... Since they've got the pres of the park riding it and it is at max speed now, the new breed of speed must be slow....

If you've been told a different designer, you've been a victim of the misinformation campaign being run by the park. I've heard the same thing from 4 different (independent & trusted) sources and I'm looking at pictures of the plans as I type this.
