The waveswinger at SFA is a sorely needed attraction for Great Adventure. Could see us getting a flat ride package for next season if our(Great Adventure) launch coaster for next year is delayed.

Did they ever get the new lighting package on that wave swinger? I know it had been talked about, never saw anything else one way or the other about it happening.
that's what im saying, and if wild one part of this ride package, then its better be worth it
Did some quick math for the average ages of SFA’s rides:
Coasters - 35.78 years on average mostly thanks to Wild One, 28.11 years if you consider it as opening in 1983, and 26.75 years excluding it for the sake of the argument
Flats - 28.46 years
Overall - 30.45 years
This is very close to the average ages of the chainwide removals of 2024, at 27.14 years for coasters excluding the Kid Flashes and 30.79 years for the flats. With the focus on removing aging and unpopular attractions, it makes me wonder just how much of the park they even see as salvageable for other parks, but on the other hand, it’s an incredibly cheap method of giving some parks “new” rides and that also certainly speaks to their current business model.

Given what an outlier Wild One probably is and how small the sample size is, did you also calculate the mode? I think that would be important context for this mean.
Definitely didn’t just have to remind myself what mode is LOL, but good call. Did median too while I was at it.

Someone at the forefront recently gave me some good insight into the parting out, which is definitely in full swing behind the scenes. I'll try and give you an idea of the current state of things.
Corporate has gone up and down the lineup, I daresay they have a good idea of what hardware they want to keep/salvage/scrap. Six Flags is very interested in keeping whatever hardware they've spent a lot of money on in recent years. Ride brokers have been scouring the park for certain pieces, trying to figure out what they want and what corporate might let them get. It's a mindset of what is in the best shape, what can I haul out of the park easily, what has the best chance of selling, what favorable deal can I make for a specific party. Other parties are peeking in to see what might interest them.
If anyone was curious about the coasters, a few have already had death certificates signed. The Wild One relocation rumor will have to be put to rest sadly, I think anyone could pinpoint the others that are very immediately not leaving. The list is inclusive though, not exclusive.
It's all an ongoing tug a war and there's no done deals at this time, hence why I can't really get into the nitty gritty. Interested to see how everything plays out.

One ride that I’d like to see relocated and that I haven’t seen talked about is SFA’s tea cups. It’s a quintessential family flat ride that a lot of parks are missing in their lineups. For example, KD could easily squeeze it into Candy Apple Grove somewhere, like by the covered plaza outside the big arcade building.

My guesses are Joker's Jinx, Roar, Batwing, Firebird are definitely done. Highly likely done is Ride of Steel.
wild one is mostly likely is getting saved, I mean, we seen cases like this happened (maybe carowinds can get it?)
I think the only shot Wild One has is if someone from outside the company buys it. Moving a wooden coaster is incredibly expensive, and this chain cares more about cost cutting than anything else right now.
Wild One does NOT have a shot anymore. I was explicitly told that there is an expectation in place already to scrap it, and I explicitly said that it was dead (Source trust me bro
) so that I could end any debate about its future. I'm trying to give everyone answers, not have you muddying the waters with genuine inquires like maybe Carowinds can get it.If I had to consider the notion of a buyer for Wild One, they'd have to A) have the footprint for it, B) be invested in that coaster as a piece of history, and C) measured the financial feasibility of that with building a new woodie ground up, especially at a time where new wooden coaster installations aren't as common. There's also Switchback at ZDT's on the market at this time, which has a poor capacity-to-price ratio for installation. It's in a better position to be moved than Wild One though, given its size and age as well as Gravity Group directly involving themselves as a broker. I think it might've actually paid off, too, since there were multiple parks interested and owners seem to be in high spirits about the ride's future. My point is though that it soaked up the rare woodie-for-sale zeitgeist. If Wild One was famous on Coney Island Cyclone levels, had an expensive two-year-old set of hardware (control system, trains, electronics), and a full length of valuable PreCut track, then maybe there would have been a chance.
I really can’t fathom anything but Ragin’ Cajun and Great Chase being saved at this stage. JJ is absolutely getting parted out, Roar is unfortunately not something anyone would want to bother relocating, Batwing is likely already dead, Firebird is well past its expiration date, and Superman is a coaster on a scale never relocated before.
There’s a chance some park overseas buys Screamore, if T3 ain’t dead yet anything’s possible for an SLC, but I think SF is more likely to send the new trains to a park that hasn’t gotten them yet and scrap the ride itself.

I think what works against Superman is how many footers it would need, and how much steel supports it would require to move to like a Michigan's Adventure or some other park with enough flat land to make the layout work.
Compare Superman, to Goliath at Walibi Holland, something opened only two years later than SFA's model. Kind-of overkill and that would be expensive to pour all these footers for an attraction 25 years old:

Boy, that comparison really shows how Intiman improved their game with ride design in such a short period of time. I agree it would be quite an ordeal to move SROS. Better off getting a new more efficient model even if it costs a little more $$ up-front.
I mean, I didn’t want to elaborate on it, but Six Flags did just spent a significant amount of money on not only the trains but a completely new control system, electronics, PLC, etc. The bones are too good to scrap right now if they have the option of moving it first.
Hell T3 if anything needs a new PLC, since the current one has been mostly corrupted by a couple different managements trying to tinker with it over the years, I wish India good luck on that one.
What I will say about Ragin Cajun is that there’s three parks in the chain with empty buildings that previously housed a coaster of similar size. I’m not saying anything has been decided, but Six Flags has options…
