Arieforce can go to Kings Island without replacing a single coaster. What's with downplaying what many consider to be one of the best coasters in the world? Kings Island would have one of the best coaster lineups in the world with Arieforce.

Also, Arieforce is not replacing the Bat. That land makes absolutely no sense for it.

And can we all agree that KI is severely lacking an undisputed #1 coaster? This would fix that.
Edit: undisputed is the clear word here. I didn’t mean kings island doesn’t have any great coasters, I more meant ppl tend to disagree on what the best coaster is. (It’s the beast btw)

I personally don't expect to see it to go to any of the "crown jewel" parks cuz I imagine they'd already have investment plans a good few years in advance, and suddenly throwing this in would mess with those.

That may just be wishful thinking disguised by what sounds like logic, though, since I'd prefer to see it at a smaller, less loved by corporate property.

Plans change all the time. Just look at Great Adventure suddenly getting four new rides out of nowhere.

Kings Island guests have been waiting for a new standout coaster for six years. Arieforce would fit that bill. It shouldn't (and won't) replace any of the major coasters though.

I think many people would prefer a custom design for their home park over a slopportunistic relocation. The ride was a failure, not that the layout or anything about the ride itself (besides the price tag) was at fault, and the thoosie praise never translated into GP appeal. I don't think it's a slam dunk wherever it goes. I never rode it, but it seems like the intensity may reach I305 levels of public-repelling

The ride wasn't a failure, the park was. I can put Fury 325 in my backyard right now, doesn't mean that people will come to ride it. That park needed a full retheme and several small additions before even thinking about Arieforce. A good ride only does so much.

The ride sunk the park. Fun Spot acquired it in 2017, made a massive investment in the form of AF1, and the park closed just over three years after that investment. It's a minor semantic difference regardless. It is no longer operating because it could not financially sustain itself

I think it's a little more complicated than that. Yes, Arieforce One shouldn't have been built. It was the equivalent of a poor college student buying a sports car. However, I don't think it was all on that one investment. Why didn't the park retheme some of the areas? Why not open up other cheap rides? Where was the advertising? Not to mention it came right after the pandemic and right before tourism started to plummet. It was the best ride at the worst possible time.

The ride will be a big success if it goes to a park that can actually handle it. Is Kings Island that park? Maybe. I wonder what else Kings Island is looking into though. I still think a modern launch coaster is what the park needs the most. Flight of Fear probably isn't making it to the end of the decade.

I'm starting to think you're being contrarian solely for the purpose of being contrarian. KI has two coasters in my top 10 (out of 373), The Beast and Mystic Timbers. Neither of which would be beaten by AFO.
 
I think it is crazy that people frequently state KI does not have a standout headliner. The amount of praise I see for Timbers, or Diamondback, or Beast... You guys have a Giga (not debating this) AND a Hyper AND a legendary woodie AND an acclaimed GCI AND you just got a reimagined dark ride. What else do you want?

Also "family" coasters (and family appropriate themed rides) are so often written off by thoosies like they don't matter but they do actually. People love Big Bear, maybe just because the parts have the word "Intamin" on them? Anyway The Bat rips and some of you don't get it

Big Bear is a Vekoma lol... but agreed on all points. Any giga is, for my money, a standout headliner.

Imagine seriously comparing coasters as "wine and soda". ESPECIALLY Kings Island coasters. I love Kings Island, I worked there for the entire season last year, but it does need a new coaster pretty badly. People have been wanting a Vortex replacement for YEARS.

Yeah, I think a steel looper, maybe Vekoma Ghostrider type model or similar, is what they SHOULD get. I do think people are also being pretentious by saying KI is "too good" for AF1 or that it is a flop or whatever, or that they should only get a custom ride that is a design fit for the park. A ton of rides are stock or mostly stock and people love them. This is pretty much what a flats package is.

All that said AF1 is not what they need to be installing. But that ride's provenance and story has made it a unicorn that I would love to see go SOMEWHERE where it survives and doesn't die.

That's the entire thing. Sirens Curse was a relocated stock model. Nobody says that Cedar Point is "too good" for it. Heck, Orion wasn't even meant for Kings Island originally! Racer is a clone, Flight of Fear is a clone, Queen City is a clone, Snoopy Soapbox Racers is a clone. Nobody cares because the rides are fun.

Arieforce would be a world class coaster that 99% of the audience hasn't ridden. It's cheaper than a new addition, can be built faster, it's an all around win. Anybody that says otherwise is just being entitled if I'm being honest.

Putting aside my inherent biases... My biggest complaint with AF1 going to KI is the terrain. If Kings Island were to get an RMC I would much rather them get one custom built for their terrain, not shoehorn something in that only kinda works.

Cedar Fair hasn't built a new RMC since 2018. Six Flags hasn't built one in five years. I think the odds of Kings Island getting a brand new RMC are slim to none. This is the best option.
