Ok - with them being able to modify this I have a thought:
Hurler at Caro is in....not seeming great shape...so what if this is going to Caro bent more to be a double out and back replacing Hurler.

I think Carowinds would be really good. The color scheme fits well in the park and the name isn't quite as terrible there. And it needs an RMC. That being said, it going to Dorney could ensure the park sticks around vs being sold or closing. Carowinds it'd enhance an existing flagship, Dorney it'd safeguard the future of the park. So as much as I hope it goes to Caro so it's close to me, I want it at Dorney

Personally if they add an RMC to Dorney @TheCoasterNerd - I personally hope it would more be a ground up, maybe even boundary pushing single rail, that can make more use the unique terrain around Dorney with the elements playing with it. Rather than taking AF1 and forcing it to work with their space.

Hurler is still relatively popular and it’s very reliable and high capacity. In a park with more than their fair share of coasters on the chopping block I don’t think they’d prioritize getting rid of Hurler.

If it does go to Carowinds then I think the most likely option is the Nighthawk plot with Arie being modified into a double out and back (and hopefully some changes made for capacity too).

shut your dirty mouth.

I don't see Dorney working if just for the zoning issues and terrain

Dorney has super stringent height rules, yeah? Seems like buying a ride for that property without approval to build it ahead of time would be pretty risky. I also suspect that Six Flags likely isn't looking for super high thrill attractions for Dorney. That market should be Great Adventure's.

also worth noting both Carowinds and Great Adventure are largely flat and featureless (and ugly)

atp I'm leaning towards Carowinds just bc Bakunawa timing would be a lot at Great Adventure. It is truly a shame about the name because it would look great flying over the boardwalk in its current color scheme but named literally anything else. Military planes just do not give beach vibes. Unless we wanna do a naval weapons station earle/leonardo docks theme and I don't think the raritan bayshore is something worth emulating

Keeping the name is one of the single stupidest things I've ever heard in my entire life. It was already an all-time-worst coaster name and theme contender and now some poor Six Flags park has to deal with that in perpetuity? Absolutely, positively insane. I'm seriously glad that my home Six Flags park, Kings Dominion, isn't in the running just because of the name. Screw that.

Sorry for whoever has to deal with this thematic disaster at their park. Just glad it isn't me.

Yeah the fact that they’re keeping the name makes me hope it doesn’t go to Great Adventure. It barely made sense at Fun Spot because who knew what the family’s name was before this ride opened, now it’s not even going to be at a Fun Spot park lmao. Makes it incredibly difficult to fit cohesively into any area.

so who do we have to bribe to get ArieForce One?

SFGAdv can and should do better. El Toro already exists as a vicious, insane, rip-your-legs-off, airtime machine. Let SFGAdv actually march forward on a uniquely crafted path towards becoming the chain's eastern flagship. Let some lesser park deal with AF1.

I don't think the name thing is the end of the world (a little crazy as a term of sale,) but it does limit them to putting it in generically-themed areas or smaller parks without much theme to begin with. I would hate to see it plopped into KI Action Zone bc that land should get a Jungle X type treatment.

I'm the type of person who would love to see more historical plaques and stuff attached to rides and this is the perfect opportunity for it. They can stick it in a "classic park/boardwalk" type area just based on looks alone and it would fit ok.

I’m not advocating for any location, but I do want to take issue with one of your claims. Acknowledging the obvious differences between the Jersey shore and Virginia Beach (where I grew up), military planes absolutely do give some of us beach vibes. I spent my childhood watching the Navy flying overhead out of NAS Oceana. I saw some weird (at the time) things buzz across the sky, as I strived to give myself skin cancer.

That said, limiting the name is an unfortunate stipulation.

Massive agree. AF1 is one of the worst coaster names I’ve ever heard in my life.

In a world where Top Thrill 2, InvadR, and Revenge of XX exist (to name a few off the top of my head), that is quite the claim.

Taken in its own context at Fun Spot, it is actually a fairly clever pun. It is probably too jingoistic for my personal taste, but it is neither generic nor an affront to the English language.

The problem isn’t with its current name, in my opinion, it is merely with the plan not to change it.

I honestly suspect with this level of reverence they are attaching to it, we will see only very minimal modifications to make it fit on a plot of land and the ride experience will be largely identical. If that is not the case (plus some explanatory signage) then why are we doing the song and dance about how "iconic" (lol) this ride is to begin with?

(moving this from a great adventure thread)

flip the direction of the final turn so u get a finale over the water next to the mine train and build the path under the bakunawa stall?

Maybe the layout changes won't be significant? They're keeping the name so it has to be somewhat recognizable

SFGAdv can and should do better.

but would they do better... ? hard to imagine. one thing I think is interesting about the verbiage of the announcement is how much they're leaning into the thoosie appreciation. Great Adventure (Ryan Eldredge) has been somewhat open about the fact that they're trying to win thoosies back after stabbing them in the back with Kingda Ka, I could see back to back Bakunawa/AF1 maybe being a start to that effort

We say that about every coaster now, but just be glad it doesn’t have some bs ai logo!

Anyways, I think KI is getting this, but the only other reasonable option I think is Carowinds. Like Six Flags said, it’s a 2028/2029 project, so it depends on if KI or Carowinds had something planned already. I have no knowledge of KI’s plans, and I haven’t heard anything relating to Carowinds planning. But if it’s going to Carowinds, we will know sooner than later because everything is public information over there.

Honestly after Gargantuan Vertical Vengeance was being teased around, Arie Force One doesn't phase me anymore lmao. I think it would be hard to top GVV.
Also.

dw I can see it now. "Oh no! The moon is in danger, the flood waters at the boardwalk are rising, we need the air force!"
*Shitty thematic music tolls as people look upwards*
".....The Arie force...."
*Roll Logo*
