Evan is at the park now. Still down. I'd expect to see some pictures of some kind from him tonight if the park doesn't throw him out for pulling a camera out of his pocket. :p

My friend went yesterday (they didn't get any pics) and said the shed that houses the cable lift has been taken completely apart. The cable spindle was gone and the small guide rotor is sitting in the grass next to the shed. There was no sign of work from park maintenance or techs in that area so they're probably waiting on parts.

Those parts are in very short supply and are not cheap. Getting that out there now, this ride will be closed at least another week at best.

Thanks for the update Cartidge! If it's really going to be down through August, that's a very, very bad sign. Hopefully that's not the case. :-/

It seems the ride operators for Intimidator 305 have been placed at other rides in the park. I saw Dale operating Volcano this evening. He didn't have the same charm that he brings on I305.

It was hard to see the lift motor, but I can easily tell that the housing has been disassembled. The pictures that I have don't show anything except an empty track, so I won't share them.

I was planning on going next week, guess ill wait. I love riding I305. It is a pretty bad sign though if its not opening back up until September..

I was at the park yesterday. I couldn't really get a great look at what was happening except for what looked like a work vehicle, seen from Rebel Yell's turn in the dark. Aside from that, I did get a pretty good laugh at how they've covered up the pay-per-use binoculars on the Eiffel Tower that face the ride. Why, Kings Dominion? Why?

I don't know why Kings Dominion is making such a huge deal about their heavyweight ride being borked. Other parks have had it happen, and they've been much more upfront and friendly about the situation instead of trying to cover it up. If the darn thing is going to be down for months then just let the cat out of the bag, it'll save some face for you when the guests have warning of what they're going to get before they enter.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think those are just broken. If I remember correctly they were covered up at the beginning on the season.

A park employee told me that Backlot Stunt Coaster will be opening with the park for the duration of Intimidator's absence from the lineup to "make up" for it. Keep in mind Backlot usually opens at noon Monday through Friday, so I found this interesting. Just so you know... :)

Is this the appropriate spot to post this? I was debating as to whether I should put it in Backlot's thread or not, but the reasoning behind the info has to do with Intimidator's issues.

This is just another clue for how long I305 will be down.

Thanks for the tip!
