Well, I was told by one of my sources there is nothing much back there anymore. Just a few Le Mans cars, 1 BBW car, and a storage thing is it.

Because that hasn't been said all along?

What is the point of hanging onto 1 BBW car unless they are planning to make a Wicked Twister ride as the grand entrance to the resort.

My point was, before cleaning of the boneyard it probably had so much interesting stuff long forgotten, now it barely has anything.

As far as the BBW goes, it could be for the copyright to the name, or something along those lines.

Well gosh, you make it seem like the boneyard is a pointless place that has no meaning and is probably the most uninteresting place in the world.

Okay, so lets check out possible dates for when this resort can be expected to be announced, and construction to commence. How long do you think it would take to build it? Longer, shorter, or about the same as building Verbolten? If shorter or about the same, we might be able to expect a general announcement this spring with a more detailed one in September.

I think it will take about a year from start to finish with the construction for the site and the building itself from after the last major announcement is made to the public.

Based upon my personal experiences in devlopement (i'm a civil engineer), it could take from 3 months to a year for design and permitting, especially if there are any wetland/RPA issues. If their traffic counts exceed a certian number, it forces a special study in which VDOT dictates a six month review and analysis. As Frontseatbill said, construction would take about one year. If the review gets fast tracked/expidited the entire time frame could be as short as 15 months.

Thanks for putting more light on this subject, since I have been out of the construction and doing electrical maintenance for 10yrs. I guess it's like riding a bike since I did electrical construction for 13yrs;).

So if actual construction can take up to a year or 15 months, hopefully and they want to open it by 2014, then they would probably need to start around this coming September, as a rough schedule. So when the park makes their little announcement for it during pass holder appreciation weekend, then they can start work and work all the way through 2013.

Is this a possibility?

^ From what I understand it is for legal reasons. Not sure what kind of legal reasons.
I'm off topic, but I feel this should be answered.

It's more for insurance purposes than legal reasons. If a personal injury lawsuit finds its way to Busch claiming some malfunction with BBW, they have a car to examine for evidence.

Well, I suppose that would make sense, but what if there was a claim against something not related to the car?

Well I am sure they were planning this resort right after Verbolten, or at least very close to each other, and they probably have almost everything finalized, almost.

Either way, we don't know FOR SURE that busch is building a resort, but we at least know that Busch is considering building a hotel/resort
