You are right, we don't know for sure, but from what we have heard so far, it might as well be fact that a resort is coming.

As for plans and projects, I am pretty sure they don't wait to finish one project before starting another. Theme/Amusement parks work in years  , they plan things out 5 years ahead from now and then the next year they work on another year. Everything they are going to do next year is already planned. The one think the park hasn't planned out yet is who to get for concerts  , which can't be too hard.

I felt the extra smilies give just a tad bit humor to the subject.

That's about right.

They normally plan for concerts a year before.

I was looking at busch's fb and some one asked about the concerts for this year... Bg said that they did not have a final list and they would be happy to take suggestions

They are probably going to take those suggestions for future years, I have no doubt that the concerts are already planned, but I am sure they take in a suggestion every now and then, but we won't see these suggestions until perhaps next year (2013).

Temporary Resort Hotel Thread

The previous thread was deleted and is in the process of being recovered. For the time being, here is a thread to discuss the upcoming resort hotel. When the previous one is recovered, this thread will be merged with the previous one. Anyway, new update here: http://bgwfans.com/?p=1648

RE: Temporary Resort Hotel Thread

I think other than Addition of Resort Hotel being the title, there are two other major hints. Proposed Land Use is "Mixed Use" which could mean either the land is being used for more than just the resort hotel, or there are more than one land owner. Also, the planner, Melissa Brown is a big hint. Looking back through the park's previous permits and their planner's (there are frequently the same planner) I noticed Melissa Brown hadn't been a planner for the park; however I kept seeing N/A, N/A in a bunch of permits, something I have never noticed before. Could the planner name be taken off a permit??

Melissa Brown is the zoning administrator for JCC. She’s neither related to Busch nor a resort company.

I know that, it just seems that certain planners seem to be more frequent at the park. Like a lot of repeated names in the permits. I know it is a wild and crazy theory but there could bit a speck of truth, or some kind of conspiracy.

RE: Temporary Resort Hotel Thread

Maybe it's because there's been a lot of construction going on at the park between Mach, Oktoberfest 2.0, and V-bolt. I wouldn't be surprised to see the same name across multiple permits.

You're probably looking in a bit too deep.

RE: Temporary Resort Hotel Thread

Maybe the Great Wolf Lodge is adding one :p Anyways, a little birdie told me we will find out this September.

RE: Temporary Resort Hotel Thread

For all we know, it could be one of those major hotel chains adding a new resort hotel to Bypass/Richmond Road. I recall some land clearing going on around where that new Hampton Inn was built not too long ago. Or maybe CW is adding a hotel. Or BGW is adding a hotel. At this point the details are still a tad vague.

The word cluster seems to stand out though. Could this mean that the potential resort is not in the resort district or something deeper?

RE: Temporary Resort Hotel Thread

I can confirm a hotel will be coming to either Busch or Kingsmill. I overheard a conversation between the VP of a local engineering firm and a Kingsmill representative. They talking about something other than the hotel, but they discussed Carter's Grove Country road, and a "new hotel site." I know Kingsmill is a separate entity from the park, but if they are in cahoots on this project, or were at one point, Kingsmill people know about it.

RE: Temporary Resort Hotel Thread

Well from what my sources have told me, expect the park to announce the resort this September the weekened before Howl-o-Scream starts. Of course, what other big news could they be revealing?

RE: Temporary Resort Hotel Thread

^Is that not enough for you? If the park uses up all of the land now, there will not be any new areas/rides unless they take other rides/areas down

RE: Temporary Resort Hotel Thread

Don't judge my photo editing skills, but this is a picture that represents the land that SWP&E owns. The Blue outline is the land they own, Red is land currently developed, Purple is where the hotel will most likely be, and Green is where they still can develop. They would need some permits to use that land though, being that it is most likely in a RPA (Resource Protection Area) like they did for Verbolten, but as we have seen, they can do that fairly easily.

Also, yes, I know I did not outline the service entrance and service road. The reason being is that Xanterra (Kingsmill) owns that strip of land - SWP&E just uses it being that they still have a close relationship. This also is why you can access the park from Kingsmill.
