I think that was the park's Trabant ride called Die Schwarz Spinne. Anyone want to fact-check that?
Edit: Die Schwarze Spinne was the spider. What was the Trabant's name?

Trabant was the ride in the picture. It was located where the Red Baron currently resides. After the Trabant left the spot had remote control trucks. If you want to see a video of one of those rides, one of the same models was featured in the movie "Sandlot".
It was a slightly not too permanent kids area from the 90s located in the present day footprint of InvadR's queue. I'm not an expert on it by any means but to my understanding it contained a ball pit and some markings that sort of gave it a Native American theme. Google Maps Street View has a decent perspective on it still.
Interesting - all I remember as a kid in that area was a few benches under Le Scoot, though to be fair it wasn't until the late 90s/early 00s that my family got passes so...

They were at the double decker bus turnaround on the France parking lot side and across from the pet kennel on England parking lot. the one on the France parking lot side is near where the smaller set of ticket booths are now.
So strange. I believe that I have just randomly stumbled on some super old footage of the park (70s?) in this Manchester Orchestra music video from 2009 scattered around; Das Festhaus definitely @ the 0:26-0:29 range.

I thought the same thing. The presence of Roman Rapids and absence of Drachen Fire makes it pretty easy to narrow down the timeline.
What a beautiful commercial. It captures everything BGW was and should be. What amazes me is the first shot of a ride doesn't even appear until halfway through the commercial, and the rides only get five or so seconds of screen time for the whole commercial. That really tells you something about what made BGW different, and it definitely contrasts a lot with how the park presents itself today.

From 26:05 to 31:43 there's some excellent historical footage of the park, notably footage of EFP construction and the ride from some of its earliest years of operation.
I know! It's crazy! I had genuinely no clue the statue was capable of falling at that speed. I didn't start riding the attraction until the mid-2000's so I had always assumed that the statue was just a very slow heavy falling object, but no! That thing slams onto its side! Maybe if another fire accidentally gets out of hand again, they could shift some of the budget towards a Pompeii renovation and we can get Speedy Statue 3000 to make his triumphant return.
