I can do all kinds of formats, but none of them seemed to be accepted on the forum upload. What format do you think it needs?

Okay, wedding over. Great to see all the BGW friends faces there. Now I have time to try this again.

Previous post

Is there video for all now? What say ye? The one of Banbury seems different. I just can't put my finger on the trees...I mean "it". Freudian slip, I guess. Just a quick search looking for embarrassing child fodder for the wedding. Filmed off the TV with a phone until I can find the best way to digitize.

All the videos are playing perfectly in Safari (iOS) and Chrome (Windows). Thanks for reuploading them! There are some really neat clips in there!

A few snippets from the same tape, out of 12 or more. I really want to dig into watching these. Too bad Hi8 isn't that great.

Was doing some digging and found this footage from 1988. This seems to be the only footage of what the catapult looked like while it was in Festa Italia.

Where was that, looks like maybe where Sea Serpent was and now AC's queue is?

Also, that ditch looked kinda rough even then...

On top of that I found many other videos which I don’t think have been posted so here are various I found today:

Wow, so much in those videos. In no particular order...
  • Autobahn when it had bright red track and trees behind it.
  • Kids sitting backward, not even in a seat, much less belted, in the then-modern minivan on the highway.
  • Nonverbal and generally dour dads.
  • Original TiO show in the Festhaus.
  • The beauty of the original Le Mans area.
  • Actual go karts that could be found somewhere other than the park, with old tires wrapped around things that were super close to the edges of the track.
  • The old play spaces, one of which had the hanging heavy bag style thingies for kids to push through.
  • Petting zoo, of course.
  • Gladiator's Gauntlet with the original rainbow-barf paint job.
  • Classic 80s shot of the ground, when the "videographer" forgot to hit the button to stop recording before shrugging the VHS camcorder off their shoulder.
  • Theoretically dangerous wildlife separated from crowds by a shallow moat and a four-foot wooden slat fence.
  • Beefeater roaming around Banbury Cross, from a time when you often found roaming characters throughout the park.
  • Hastings entrance looking the best it ever looked.
  • Multiple Nostramos shows. Goes to show how popular it was.
  • Laundry hanging on lines everywhere in Aquitaine.
  • So many red skyride buckets!
  • Loch Ness pre-Alpengeist.
  • Fun with the old style animated figure "orchestra" in the Festhaus.
  • OG Land of the Dragons.
  • Hastings bridge looking the best it ever looked.
  • Then, years later, the Hastings makeover in its original form.
  • Eagle enclosure, no netting. (Which, in concept, didn't end all that long ago, just in a different part of the park...)
  • Aquitaine wine shop as its previous incarnation, a Budweiser shop.
  • Idiots stopping dead on Le Mans.
  • Video evidence that "sit on your sandals" was an actual permitted policy on Alpengeist by 2001.
  • Beautiful entry bridge to Oktoberfest with the multiple wrought iron trellis structures.
  • So much of the GARDENS aspect of BG. Hanging flowers everywhere.
  • Cuckoo clock and stein mania.
  • Festhaus ceiling decor at its turn-of-the-millennium peak.
  • Pompeii's original disaster-detritus theming, and non-Carl Lum blue lagoon.
So much more.

Kudos to the folks hitting Kill Devil Hills and Monticello. Bit of history there.

Found this video of the park in 1994. Some great shots of the Big Bad Wolf and Drachen Fire.

This vid just came up in my YouTube recs, too... lots of great extended shots of Drachen Fire, including the infamous Removed Corkscrew just before it was actually removed (after the 1994 season). Presumably the replacement straight-track-with-a-brake section was already designed and under fabrication as this video was being shot.

Also, some DF footage from within the viewing area at the center of the helix. Good stuff.

I wasn’t sure where to put this, so I decided this was the best place. After watching this video

I decided to recreate the intro theme. I’ve always liked it so I decided to compose it from the ground up. Hope you enjoy
