I’m trying to figure out where exactly in Festa were the remote boats located

I love watching these old videos. The first time I went to BGW, I was 10 and they were still building Nessie. I am always hopeful that I'll see my family in the background of someone else's video, but even if I don't, the memories of those early days come flooding back. Thank you to all who post vids and pix. ❤️

The quality is so clear! So many things to notice:

- Roman Rapids in its first year
- Threadneedle Faire entrance, signs, more
- Bird Show

I want to emphasize the bird show here as those three parrots featured in the video – Harold (Green-Winged Macaw), Martha (Cockatoo) and Lolita (Yellow-Naped Amazon) were crowd favorites for the entire duration of the show's run at the park. My friend worked across from there at Threadneedle Faire and she would go over to the backstage area during her breaks and play with the birds between shows. They were all super friendly, especially Harold, as she was able to feed him seeds from her lips as he was that gentle.

Not sure if this one has been shared before, but here’s a video of the park from 1989. Some highlights:
  • Great footage of the games of Threadneedle Faire
  • The entrance area with its original water features and soundtrack (shared with Banbury)
  • Shots of the Royal Preserve Petting Zoo
  • The old bridge between Oktoberfest and Rhinefeld
  • The spider ride (the German name is escaping me… Die Schwarz Spinne?)
  • Gladiator’s Gauntlet, complete with its super loud noises
