RE: 2017 Show Rumors

I watched several unhappy children being pushed and led up to the front, being told that they would have fun. I can relate to them. I hated it, when my mother did that to me, as well.

Nic, that was one of the best things I have ever read on this forum. As I have mentioned on top of the performance issues, the technical aspects of the show were just bad. Beautiful scenic art is great so long as it fits the show.

While I very much appreciate Nicole's in depth review, Luke's review consisting of 'I do not care for this show' has convinced me to ignore the Festhaus completely this season. Thanks to the both of you (and Zimmy too) for sparing me the wasted thirty minutes of my families life.

Luke (and many others) have criticized the show. Your pointing to criticism of OktoberZest as equating to negativity seems to include Luke in that bucket, no?

Before making broad, overarching judgements about large parts of a community, I recommend reading threads for things at the park that are better than OktoberZest. InvadR and Les Frites are both great, recent examples.

I was at the park Friday for the opening of Invader and herd there have been so many complaints about the new show that in a couple of weeks they are gonna make tweeks to the opening of the show, I did really like the part that had them chopping the logs......

If the tweaks involve re-choreographing the dances and getting rid of those random black and white outfits, I welcome the change most heartily.

Care to give your thoughts on it?

I honestly believe OktoberZest to be a hodgepodge of disjointed ideas of varying quality tossed together inside a blender. What comes out the other end is a disgusting sludge with slight chunks of quality floating inside it. This muck could have been refined into a reasonably good show if anyone in production had attempted to perfect the recipe even just a little. That said, at the end of the day, what is currently being served up to guests most closely resembles a bowl of shit.

Disclaimer: The cast is great. Honestly, in my opinion, they're one of the most talented casts we have seen in a main season Das Festhaus show in a while now. That said, as is all too common at Busch Gardens, their production is not even remotely worthy of their talent.

I would just like to recommend that everyone remember that unlike InvadR and Les Frites, there are real people involved in a show that may be reading your words.

Real people design and build roller coasters. Real people develop recipes and restaurants. Their craft is no less important than those who work in theatre.

I call things as I see them and the show I saw in Das Festhaus the other week was not good.

Anyway, as with most things, my opinions go far deeper than my previous post. I may elaborate on them when I have more time (and preferably after I've seen the show again).
