RE: Night Beats (2012 to Present)

So, the Jitterbug section would have been fine, if they changed the costumes?

RE: Night Beats (2012 to Present)

It probably would have? I'm not sure to be honest. They altered the costume like three different times for the show, and I don't really think it improved anything about that sequence.

The music and dancing were fine in the video that was inflicted on me a few nights ago.

RE: Night Beats (2012 to Present)

I don't think I ever really had a problem with the dancing and the music, it was just the costumes. lol But glad to know that it was fine, when you were forced to watch an old video. c:

The original 2012 costumes were absolutely horrid. Last year's costumes were a lot better. If they changed the cargo pants, I wouldn't of minded anything about that part. But I absolutely despise Cargo Pants, and Scott seems to have a strange excess of them in his shows.

This has always been my favorite show, and I've seen it so many times over the years, I notice the littlest of changes very easily.

I think they've done a great job of ruining the show this year. From Ulrich not walking into the audience at the beginning, to the tables not going into the air, it just keeps getting worse. The new Beatrice can sing, but she's very cold and doesn't seem to fit the part. The show is all over the place, with changes in just about every scene. They even took away the moves for tonight is the night. Whether you liked the jitterbugs or not, last years show was very well put together from start to finish. Whomever made all these changes to a show that was liked by so many, they should be banished!

Very disappointing!

I will say this about NB...
With all the spotlights in my face I have absolutely no problem eating my food.  As a matter of fact, the operators are kind enough to adjust the lights if I move to another spot.  I swear that I get highlighted more than Ulrich or Schmoopie. ;)

I never saw the past versions but here is my verdict, It was surprisingly good. Ever since FrankenRock! I took a break from shows in the Festhaus but this was like a nice blanket on a cold winter night. The crowd participation, the simpleness of the set, and it had an easy story to follow along too. Definitely a nice little show to put you in the Halloween mood!:)

RE: Night Beats (2012 to Present)

Saw the first 10 minutes of Night Beats on Friday. Thought it was cheesy in the past and I still think it is cheesy now (though I do love the costumes).

At the end of one of the scenes, a teenager ran up to the stage, bowed/did the actor freeze frame for a second then ran off.  I can't remember what Ulrich said exactly but he did a great job of acknowledging that it happened with a joke without causing a scene/being flustered.

We left the show and got in line for Root of All Evil since it was about to open.  As we were leaving the maze, we saw the kid with his hands handcuffed behind him, sitting on a cop car.  He was surrounded by security and police and it looked like they were checking him for sobriety.  Seemed a little excessive for just jumping on the stage but he may have caused a bigger scene when they tried to approach him....

How can we protect you, if we don't know where you are.

Seriously, people running up on stage, while certainly funny, can be really dangerous for the actors. First of all with the lights it is not always easy to see things coming at you. Second actors have varying degrees of improve ability. Some have to stick very close to a script, and that kind of thing can really screw them up and frankly frighten them. (I am not saying that this is common, but it can happen, in fact I have seen an actor get so spooked they threw a punch.)

Do you arrest a person for that, I don't think so, but you certainly eject them from the show.
