Costumes MAJOR changes for 2013

The park is going in a whole new direction for costumes and just threw out an unexpected twist. So we recently found out at the end of last season that the park is switching to the new bowling shirts colored different for each country and that all team members will be wearing kaki pants.

Here is the new juicy stuff. Team members will only wear kaki pants during the Spring and Summer ONLY. Team members will switch back to black pants for Howl-o-Scream and Christmas Town.

Furthermore, in line with the switching of pants and such, since Christmas Town has their own costume Howl-o-Scream will now be implementing new special shirts! Everyone's favorite bowling shirts will be black with an orange stripe and this will be the shirt for all team members throughout the park. I photoshopped one of the Italy shirts that was posted a while back on this thread and turned the colors into a concept picture of what the HOS shirts will look like. Before you say it, yes I know it was terribly and obviously photoshopped, don't judge my skills. I haven't used Gimp in awhile so my skills are off.

New purple shirts with white stripes will be in effect April 1st, sorry I missed the date! This goes for England and Sesame Street from what I've heard as well as other front of the park locations, but mainly England.

Now the entire park has new shirts! Just a recap:

~ Germany - Blue
~ Italy - Red
~ England - Purple
~ Scotland/Ireland - Green
~ France - Yellow
~ New France - Orange

All bowling in style with white stripe.

And they form a complete rainbow.
ROY G. BIV, The only one missing is indigo!:p I think they are okay uniforms, but I miss every country having its own style. Not where every shirt is the same except for the color. Oh! I've noticed that the Dark Castle people still where the custom made uniforms for the ride.:)

Meh, most people don't really consider Indigo a part of the rainbow. It's the pluto of the rainbow.

Do we know weather or not, Busch Gardens Tampa got these uniform "upgrades" too. I would be so mad if they got to keep their uniforms, and we had to get these. Does anyone know?

I like blue for Germany (Bavarian blue), and I think green obviously makes sense for Ireland. I even like red for Italy, you know. That makes sense. But then they feel obligated to fill in the rainbow so they're stuck pairing things up that don't really work. Like yellow and France. Orange and Canada. Purple and England.

The pitfalls of function following form.

Actually purple for England makes some sense. Purple is technically a royal color and England is famous for its kings and queens. So there is some connection there. I will agree I am totally lost with Orange and Yellow for the Frances.

I am very interested in this as well! I guess I never really thought of that.

Also, did you know that the park got the red and blue shirts from one company and all the other shirts came from a different company, yet they all look like they came from the same place.

Just got hint of new leadership team shirts. What do you guys think of the bowling shirts WITHOUT the white stripe? Sounds just as fantastic right? Also the shirts will feature pockets on the shirts for those important things the supervisors need to carry.

Last I checked, Tampa changed out their uniforms to more generic ones already. They certainly didn't seem themed when I saw them last May.

Guess what I found...

Got a tip from one of my sources at the park to the company gets the uniforms from... Even though it does not look exactly like the shirts, it does look like something Busch could customize easily... btw, these guys are in St Louis, MO... where AB has their headquarters:dodgy:

Honestly, the park doesn't use that manufacture and probably never will. They go for custom outfit manufactures, not random stuff manufacturers. Some examples can be found below:

Toucan Dance
Edwards
A+ School Apparel

and others, I forgot one or two, but you get the idea.

Although I applaud your work as a fanatic.

Just something to note about costumes; turns out the Entertainment supervisors, stage managers, etc. all used to wear button up shirts; however with the new logo being used, the shirts became outdated and someone in the Entertainment department ordered new brightly colored polos. The interesting bit is that as soon as Scott found out about the new shirts he freaked because no one got his approval for these new shirts. He immediately had new bowling shirts ordered for them, that are kind of bland and a bit dark in color.

Also, how much control does Entertainment have over the park and their costumes? A lot. Health Services had to get approval from the Director of Entertainment to get a new fabric type for their shirts. That wasn't even a new style of shirt or design, just for a new fabric to be used for the shirts.

Okay, I really wanted to say this. After going through a whole year with these dreadful uniforms, I can honestly say that they have not grown on me, at all. In fact I'm hating them more and more as I see them. They are the most hideous things I have ever seen, and they look so un-professional. Some of them look okay, but the rest of them are just awful.

The fact that they aren't making them tuck them in drives me nuts! Do you know how many times I got mooned by an employee last year, because he/she wasn't wearing a belt, and their pant size, was one size too big. It's not what I want to see when I go to a theme park, I've never experienced a thing like that ever before.

Then there's the fact that they don't really tie in with the theme anymore, I was watching the pre-ride video for LNM last week, and I saw they video-taped it when they were still using the old uniforms, and I was so disappointed, by how far the quality has dropped. I really wish they hadn't done this, big mistake BG, Big Mistake.

Team members should not be tucking in their bowling shirts. The leadership specifically said they were designed not to be tucked in. If they tuck them in, they are doing their own thing and they shouldn't be.
