Those outfits the women are wearing reminds me of the little show that was in France during Illuminights a couple years ago... o_o

I guess I'll be the pessimist here.

Truly, this show should've been pretty good. They already had the general concept from the rest of the MS shows to build off of. Really all they had to do was, change the story from MSR from a Peasant and A Vampire falling in love, to Jack and a hooker falling in love. And of course, Jack killing her in the end. Then after that, you just transfer over the Skeletons, drumming, and stomping from the older shows, change the music and that's all you had to do. As much as I want to, actually I don't want to, I can't give Scott much, if any credit for this show. But I'm still glad it's good.

Where to begin? Uhhhhh. This show was HALF good to me. Meaning it was also half bad. Evanescense bad. Hooker getting killed then dancing in next scene, bad. Michael Jackson beat it was bad. Hunky knife bangers were really cool. Murder in the 1st 30 seconds was cool. Skeleton dancing was really cool. I'm no expert or anything, but I was applauding half of this show and couldn't bring myself to clap for the rest. The rhythm is gonna get you? Why not at least change the words a bit to 'the ripper is gonna get you'...No brainer.

Oh, that's what the lyrics were in the rehearsal I was listening to. I heard ".... is gonna get you..." But I couldn't tell what else they were saying.....:p

I went to the first show and I thought overall it was good. During the pre show actors were going around the theater doing like a little skit. The problem was they didn't have mics on so unless they were within 10 feet of you you couldn't hear what they were saying. They definitely need mics.
I was glad to see the skeletons back...always loved that part...also glad to see the drummers back. I'm not a big fan of some of the song selections in this one but overall I thought the show was good an well worth seeing.

The HALF good (besides the murder in 30 secs) was good because both where taken from previous MS show (AND got the biggest and best response). The other bad half was all scott. I always think of Sweet Charity when I think of MS...NOT!

I think the MS bits helped the show. Some of the Scott bits weren't too bad, and it never got full LR crazy-go-nuts insane.

They did all end up in Hell though, so there's that.

I was of course looking at it from a technical POV. Frankly I was only half aware of the show as I was watching the lighting cues and taking photos for my twitter.

It really was like 2 different shows. The fist half was fairly traditional lighting, as much so as that space will allow anyway. The use of the horrible video was kept to a minimum.
Sadly most of the lighting is LED based and is very harsh. That said, the first half have some lovely cues in it.

The second half was all LR. Projection, Full front follow spots and no creativity with the colors.

I will say, they made better use to the LR raked stage then LR every did.

Musically the only issue that has not been covered that I have is the female leads voice. WTH?

Zimmy is pretty spot on here. I didn't pay much attention to lighting, but the stage was done up really good. I liked the dual drum kits at the top of each spiral case. I'm fairly certain they forgot to 'mic' the large red drums in the house on centerstage. They should have provided a focused beat but you could not hear them at all. Maybe the female lead lost her voice a little when they cut her throat the first time Zimmy :)
