Anyways, they still need to test it with a full load to make sure the brakes work. Or should I go to bed?

They do. That is a valid point. AHHHH!!! You are the one who has been drinkin?

RE: Mäch Tower

We're so bad, coming up with ways Mach Tower will be delayed some more. ;) ahahahaha but anyway, is it just me or does it seem like it holds for way too long (30 seconds)

RE: Mäch Tower

I hope it doesnt hold for 30 seconds. Building suspense for me would be like ten seconds, 30 seconds you just want to get on with it already.

But I guess it does have to hold up there longer with the vibrating seats....

RE: Mäch Tower

Safety checks at that height require an extended period of time. You'll more than likely eventually see that time shorten.

RE: Mäch Tower

I'm sure this is still in manual mode but sped up. As for the spinning, would it make sense that possibly they have it spinning fast so test the system? Like pushing it to limits past what it would receive during normal operations?

RE: Mäch Tower

That's usually what some companies do. Somewhat unrelated, the top spins are always put on a higher weight class to see how they handle flipping 6 times very fast. I saw them doing it to Twister in Great Adventure last year on opening day and it was quite possibly the funniest thing I've seen.

RE: Mäch Tower

While adding the weight of a fully loaded car may not affect the speed (Physics, people!), it will most likely have an effect on the deceleration rate. An unloaded car is more quickly and easily stopped than a loaded vehicle. More mass to overcome the magnetic brakes. So, the full speed drop should be a bit farther with a full vehicle. Probably not much, but there you go.

I'm assuming it was more of a blackout-inducing blur than fast spinning, then.

I think the testing will get up to a point where it will push the limits (in the next two weeks or so, right?) but for now, I assume they want to break as few things as possible.

RE: Mäch Tower

I was there last night and didnt see any testing being done. They may have been done for the day, but i asked the worker under the umbrella ad they said that they are being pressed more and more to open up the ride. Didnt know if he meat by higher ups or the general public, but he said that Mach Tower should open up in 5-7 days. Not sure what to take of this though since every other time I have gone there i got the dreaded 2-3 weeks response. Not getting my hopes up but was nice to finally get a different response.

Thanks for something we have already established.

Yes, thanks, mtpelepele, for coming out and explaining that the issue is not gravity but resistance, friction, overcoming mass, etc. rather than simply hinting and flinging sarcastic barbs.

RE: Mäch Tower

Is there a certain amount of times the park must conduct a successful test before the ride opens?
(I don't know if this has been posted, but anyway...)

RE: Mäch Tower

I was a bit disappointed that it only dropped once. Any word on multiple drops when it "officially" opens.... whenever that may be?

RE: Mäch Tower

^ It'll only be one. Capacity would be too bad to have multiple drops. If they wanted multiple drops, they would of gone with S&S (probably would of been a better choice).

RE: Mäch Tower

S&S Would have been a better choice but we all know how BG likes to buy international.

Did you get your feelings hurt on the internet?

I have a feeling the seats and rotation are to partly add to the fact that it is one drop. Oh well, like I said before. I am sure I'll do it once and not again until I am bored and the park is dead.
