But could the dropping be done when no one is there at the park to see it?
and this does mean progress! Could this be the start of employee testing?

It was going up to the top earlier and dropping. Multiple times in a row. This was at around 10 though, before Oktoberfest was open. Couldn't really tell if it was rotating on the way up from the distance.

Like I said, I couldn't tell. It definitely went to the top and dropped three times in a row though. I'll be there early tomorrow, I keep a close eye on it when I get there.

my 1st post on here. I was at BG today from 10 until about 2. It was about 11:30 when i made my way over to Mach Tower. Noticed they had it raising up the tower. They had sand bags in each seat and they were just raising it up and holding at the top for 30 seconds before dropping it. There was no rotation though. I saw them raise and drop it atleast 5 times while i was over in the area. I was in that area for almost an hour. Spoke to the guy under the umbrella and he seemed to have no clue about any info on the ride other than possible 2-3 weeks opening up.

So, the reason for the lack of spinning and the slow movement is due to the testing currently being conducted in "Manual Mode". According to a source, once they work out the kinks, they'll start testing in "Automatic Mode", which includes spinning and obviously, a faster ascent.

I have to agree what is happening to the best part of the park ):
