I think the tilt is happening. The seats look hinged at the bottom to me.

I think the commercial saying "Shake" is just a way for them to tell you something special is happening up there without ruining the surprise.

I dont think they are going to tilt outwards, I briefly looked at the system for acrophobia (which is the only ride i know of that tilts outward) and the pistons should be horizontal not vertical for an outward motion, i think the shaking motion is gonna be more of a rocking motion with the pivot point being the bottom hinge

Yeah, the only way the seats would be able to tilt out at that angle would be if the cylinders were already expanded, which they aren't. But while we are on the subject, I did have a dream that I rode MT and the seats did tilt out (and I do have a record of having my dreams that come true)!

No there's definitely more to it. The park just doesn't want to reveal anything...I mean look at the commercial: absolutely nothing is actually revealed about the ride. NOt even the seats are correct (but that's because when they filmed the commercial they didn't have any of MT's seats so they took some of Alpengeist's extra seats, tweaked em a little and stuck them in front of a green screen). But there is definitely a few surprises at the top ;)

Looks like this thread is filled with a ton of engineers. I'll watch the speculation ensue.

I pointed the pistons to her and she was surprised, whatever it is, they really want it a secret.

Yes they do..they won't even tell us employees what us going on!!!! That would probably explain the employee's disknowledge. She probably hadn't seen the announcement videos, etc. But yes it's all a very tight-knit secret.

Has BG ever kept a secret for a ride like this before?

I'm looking it at now (from far away) and I do see some blue things that look like they're soft to a point, but they look more like decoration. Not seeing anyhing anything else that would point to what it might be.

As far as my knowledge goes...I don't think they've kept a secret like this before. It's kinda annoying to be honest. But I am expecting my mind to have babies from being "brainbanged" so hard. That's how high my expectations are...I mean if you're going to keep this ride that's going to open in less than 2 weeks (hopefully) this much of a secret then I want to be blown away.

PS If you watch ABDC on MTV then you'll know what I mean by "brainbanged" =)

I am totally convinced that mtv is unable to produce good tv anymor, but that's a different issue.

Maybe it's this: As the ride goes up, the pistons bring the chairs up that litttle bit. Once it's at the top, the pistons release dropping the riders a little bit just to give them a false scare before it really drops.

You can kind of see the blue things, this was the best I could get. Looking at the number of them, it looks like there's one per seat.

Guys, these seats are not going to tilt. The "special surprise" is that they vibrate, which has already been established. Y'all are reading way too much into this stuff.

@Swiftman: I think it looks awesome! They really cam a long way from when the park first opened. With all the painting and new things popping up everytime I blink, I'm very impressed
