RE: Mäch Tower

I am going to guess that the piece on the ground is going around the part that carries the vehicle up... wait, just saw the commercial and noticed a piece just like it where I thought (On the piece that carries the carriage up)

EDIT: In the commercial, look above the riders heads... Right at the beginning

Yup, exactly. That'll look nice actually. Much more elegant that Drop Tower at KD

RE: Mäch Tower

Yesterday I was at Busch Gardens and when a worker opened the door of the wood surrounding mach tower he let us look inside for a few seconds. Above every single seat is a pair of vertical pistons and under each seat is a hinge sort of looking object. This MUST mean the seats are going to move (tilt forward at the top). Also, the ride has restraints just like the griffon with seatbelts attached to your restraints. If i had to guess i would say it can hold about 20 passengers at once. The seats are arranged in a circle around the tower too. I also noticed something very strange that I haven't seen on any drop tower. Above the car was something that looked almost like a balcony all the way around the tower. What could that be for???? Sorry they said no pictures... :( They were also drilling holes in the ground where they were going to put the queue poles. It looks like a LONG and BORING queue that just weaves back and forth.

RE: Mäch Tower

@coaster weirdo: the tower can hold 30 people around the base, it has already been confirmed that the seats are going to vibrate...we can only hope that they'll tilt outwards as well but no promises. The company that manufactured this ride locks the harnesses with hydraulic cylinders (the things above the seats)...but I am hoping that the seats tilting outward would be a surprise that they're just not telling us about

@Zoomy: well the employee training is supposed to start nex week some time...if that helps...but the company has to test it out first before they can hand it over to the employees. I would expect a late week testing this week though

I think it looks great and will fit in fine in the new Oktoberfest. It will be wild to see if for this first time this weekend.

RE: Mäch Tower

Don't go in expecting anything though, odds are that they are leaving the testing for when the park is closed

I think it will end up being quite the opposite. Testing with guests in the park will generate a TON of hype around the attraction. Look at the testing history of coasters.

Guys, these seats are not going to tilt. The "special surprise" is that they vibrate, which has already been established. Y'all are reading way too much into this stuff.

If you say so. But rocking forward and back a little bit and "Vibrating" seems a little different. To me "Vibrating" connotates sitting an a washing machine. And would add nothing to the experience. However, even a little rocking, just an inch or two right before the drop, might make for a different and better ride.

IF that is what is going to happen then I think "Vibrate" was a poor choice for them to use to promote it.

RE: Mäch Tower

That's what I've been saying. I was telling my friend about how the seats were supposed to vibrate and all they could reply with was...hehe vibrations
Think the feeling of falling out would make this ride 1000x better
