speaking of the oktoberfest renovations... are they being done over this off season? or is it a continuous project over the course of the next year or two? Itd be nice to have the drop tower and the renovations done over this off season, as much as i hate to see the park changing so dramatically, it will bring new life to that area.

The surprise has been more or less conformed to be vibrating seats.

How I understand it, the Oktoberfest renovations will be done by opening this year.

I heard vibrating seats is what people think it will be, and that is what I am thinking also. I have also heard tilting seats.

I don't think its going to be an ugly tower at all. And I know when its all said and done the ride will fit perfectly in with the rest of the area.

I think it'll look cool on the skyline when you're driving up to the park itself. As for whether or not anyone's excited about it: I personally am. I love drop towers and you don't know for sure that it won't bring people to the park. We're not the entire country (just saying) Will it bring TONS of people? No. Will it bring SOME people? Possibly. But I'm excited about it =)

I dont think it will be an ugly tower, as long as it fits with the theme. Kings Dominions isnt ugly, it fits with the theme IMO although there isnt a theme to the Grove, it fits there.

^ Whoa, whoa, whoa! Did you just use the phrases "King's Dominion" and "theme" without separating them with a phrase like "has no" or "is really bad at making a cohesive" or "doesn't know the definition of?"

I think it will definitely be uncharacteristically not aesthetically appealing for the park. Vibrating seats would be cool, tilting would be cool, too, though those are out there. I don't think there's ever been a tower with vibrating seats. It could be fun, you never know.

I didn't know that King's Dominion was now referring to itself as "The Grove." :p

I'm not really a huge fan of KD (in case you couldn't tell) because, well, I like the experience of Busch Gardens. Kings Dominion is full of obnoxious parkgoers, and I don't like parks where out of control guests aren't really held in check. Plus, to me, the coasters there don't really compensate for that, though I haven't been able to ride I-305. It's just like Six Flags. Lots of coasters, at least half of them aren't very fun, and the utter lack of theming (and trees) is irritating. I like a park like Busch where I can go with my grandma if I wanted to and we could both have a marvelous time. :)

The Grove is a section of the park. FYI :)

Also I don't think the ride will look that bad. Obviously it has to be blue/white/sky colored.

I know The Grove is a park section. It was a joke. Get it? Like, "The Grove" has no theme and the park has no theme, so the park must be called "The Grove?" It's no fun if it must be explained :)

actually, if you look at the map, you'll see the grove, then if you use a microscope, you'll see places like the Congo, or....and.......ah...... , .......some old America place, and......Ya, the whole park is pretty much the grove. Oh I almost forgot, theres the area that is themed to a top secret military base...and the Daytona 500. Am I the only one who doesn't get that?

Actually, the whole old virginia theme is quite well done and prevalent. Also, the “Congo” includes FOF and Timmy305. By the way, Cedar Fair has constantly stated that they are an Amusement Park Company and that theme is not a priority. The only reason they use some theme, such as Nascar is to attract guests and make the coasters more than just a parking lot coaster.

Just so you guys know, KD's tower is ugly by measures of any tower. So ours WILL look better. Not saying good, but better.

I think that the trip up will be great to. I think there's a better place for drop towers in theme parks than amusement parks anywho.

I like orange, yellow, and green so I like Kings Dominions drop tower

Well, I would think the view would be great, especially if it rotates to get a 360-degree view. And I believe that almost any ride belongs more in a theme park than an amusement park, but that's just my opinion. :)

I just wanted to know if anyone else got a survey for mach tower. I got one and it was asking me about how i thought it would effect my visits to the park.
