Still only considered a "soft" opening. So pretty much they could only be running it half of the day if they wanted. No word on an official opening date. On the official opening day it will be open like any other ride at Busch from there on out, 100% operational all of the time (unless it breaks down).

Side note... anyone know if it has broken down at all today? If not it might be better that they waited to open it so there wouldn't be any breakdowns.

That's the general consenus, the Park will not confirm it though. I even blandently asked on Twitter, and they didn't even respond; no DM (yes they follow me) no nothing.

I was impressed at the organization and overall attitude of the ride ops this morning right as the ride opened. The line moved super-fast. We got into about the 3rd/4th rail of the queue each time (about the halfway point) and the wait was only a few minutes.

Amazing ride rode it 5 times really takes your breath away. They also have a very efficient way of boarding riders.

Is the view as cool as it would seem? I was thinking that would be a sticking point to this attraction.

...doesn't every ride ever break down on it's first day? I swear I hear it all the time.

I'll be at the park tomorrow to see what all the fuss is about.

Why would you expect a drop tower to be awe inspiring?...its a drop tower, and a shorter one if that...im expecting nothing amazing..at least bgw added a ride...( drop towers aren't considered flats right?)....lol

Well despite critical acclaim, Mach Tower was worth the wait... the 20 minute one.. All joking aside, it actually was a very good ride! I think it was exactly the thing Busch needed, a thrill ride that is more than just swinging back and forth, and offers an AMAZING view of the park. Rotates 2 full times before top? (correct me if im wrong - I forgot to count on the way up.) While looking around at the view it really makes the drop seem unexpected (I really think that was what they were going for). Honestly when I was looking around I forgot about the drop! Great ride, well worth it.

Was at the park today and rode it twice, the restraints got stuck at the end of my first ride which caused it to shut down for a while after, not sure how long, though, great ride and glad its finally open. (Also, first post made on this site)

Welcome, Pinkie. Glad to hear that you had a good time at BGW and that you enjoyed Mach Tower. Hopefully the ride won't have anymore problems while it's open.

All it does is vibrate slightly. It's not the "shaking" that Busch advertised. In my opinion, its a little cheesy, along with the "special on-board audio effects." The view is what makes the ride great, definitely not the effects.

According to TPR it is Oktoberfest style music that plays heading up and then scratches out like a cd at the top.
