If you are going to mock Broadway do it right and run a "Forbidden Broadway!"

While I'm not a huge fan of the puppet scenes (my 4 yr old is though) I can appreciate the work the puppeteers put in. The lady that did the vocals for the girl triplet is my favorite; I think she'd make an excellent voice actor (she was there both times I've seen the show)

Sounds more like someone can't take ownership of a poor product and is taking it out on the performers. First the public didn't "understand" it. Now, the cast isn't doing it well. NY or local, performers can only work with what they are given. Lipstick on a pig and all that.

This doesn't seem right. Not to doubt your sources, BGW Family, but we all know this was something that was supposed to bring in guests. :p

I am only making this comment based on the video of the early production of this show. I have NOT seen this show in person.

I sometimes wonder if the performers are the "filling" for the theater technology being used in this show. Like the performers have to compete with the production elements instead of that technology being used to give focus to the singers/dancers.

I have no problem with nice sets, lighting, and costuming, enhancing the entertainer's performance. But, if the production elements are so overwhelming that the performers are forced into the background, then it can throw it off-kilter. Sometimes less is more.

If you are trying to deliver and advertise this as live performance, then emphasize the "live".

Maybe that is why I long for the old Kings Production shows at Kings Dominion. They put on shows with very complex and elaborate sets, good lighting, and beautiful costumes. BUT, when watching the show, your eyes were focused on the performers. They were the stars. It was the same way with the older show productions at Busch Gardens.

I feel the same way about Celtic Fyre. Lots of focus on the performers. Nice set as a background, but more focus on the singers, dancers, and musicians. There's just so much going on in London Rocks.

Oh okay, it just sounded like you were making first impressions in that comment, that's all.

I took the tour and I enjoyed it. The only problem is that this is not a very good deal for people who aren't into theater. I had to ask questions galore. They only mention the usual marketing spiel about it being "the biggest show the park has ever done". Also, they rarely allow photos.

COS: Could you write up the tour for everyone?

I would be glad to! Just give me some time to gather the information along with a few pictures that I was allowed to take.
Just for what it's worth, it seems like the tour guide somewhat turned a "blind eye" to my photo taking towards the end of the tour. I guess it was just obvious that I am an avid fan of all things related to Busch Gardens and theatrical productions.
