RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Is she a specific "character?" Or does she represent a generation as a whole that was affected by rock music? Is she a specific person, or is she a device for describing a culture? Maybe she shouldn't have her own identity.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Well going off all the interviews and press releases, I'm pretty sure Scott would've said something like that, I guess you could think about it that way, but he never said anything about her representing anything but "Lucy."

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

The more I think about it, the more I believe she is "everywoman."

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Actually, I was thinking about that reading the article. I never smelt anything out of the ordinary while watching the show. Not sure if that effect wasn't ready yet, but that is interesting.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Here is my current full playlist for London Rocks! I went back I listened more carefully for the changes in music, which was very hard plus trying to listen to lyrics via video recording is hard by itself. They really did a good job of mixing the music together. I also grouped the songs together in the order of scenes. There are six total scenes, each on describes a part of Lucy. The first scene is just meeting Lucy, then she meets her lover, then they get married, then they have children, then the family faces troubles (probably about over working late at night) and they end up fixing it, and finally the finale "All You Need Is Love". Just in case anyone wanted to know the plot. Also thanks to a few of the members here for pointing out some songs as well as one tricky song that I got thanks to that WYDaily.com news article.

I have not seen the show yet. But....I just couldn't resist catching a glimpse, so I watched the first 4-5 minutes of Zachary's youtube video. I have been a guitarist in multiple bands over the last 20 years and I can tell you, just from the 1st few minutes, there's a lot more going on in this show than meets the 'ear'. The very 1st song,(only one I watched) has the band singing 'only rock and roll' by the Stones, but the music they are playing is 'Smoke on the water' by Deep Purple. I picked up on this instantly due to the fact that it was the first song I ever learned on guitar at the age of 11. I am excited to see what else is hidden in this show!

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Okay, going back to the debate about the tickets, there may be another reason other than what was posted for the park's choosing to use the "ticket" system. I don't believe it was chosen to "build hype" or give people a rock concert "experience," or prevent over-crowded showings.

I apologize if somebody else said this, but rather than the above reasons I think London Rocks has the issue of being at the very front of the park, which few people visit after entering the park. I suppose the ticket system is in place so when people walk through Banbury Cross when entering the park, they will stop and pick up a ticket while they're already there. That way, later on the tickets will remind them that they have a show to catch and let them walk back to the front of the park.

It's still a bit inconvenient and there are definitely flaws, but perhaps even with what could be deemed a mildly confusing system, more people will visit when they have a "reminder" to catch a show in their hands, than if they simply catch a glimpse of it as they enter at the front of the park. Just my two cents.

I was hoping that someone else picked up on this. When our lady in yellow plays the record, those are the classic riffs that I love. I choose to take it as a subtle homage to THE PURPLE THING!! ;)

A little off topic but did anyone smell any strawberries?

Yes, there are "scent" machines in use for this show.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I have to say that the idea of being sprayed with various scents and fluids is serving as a huge deterrent to me. It sounds like going to a department store and getting napalmed in the perfume section. I want to see this in person less and less.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Out of the three shows I have watched, on three different days, I have not smelt anything out of the usual. I am guessing maybe the machines aren't very strong, or maybe they just weren't ready. Whatever the case is, it really is an unnoticeable effect.

Please be my guest to get the instrumental music because I will never be able to get that. Getting the lyrical music was hard enough for me :p

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Okay, I'm really confused. From what I've heard, the doors to the Globe open 30 minutes before show time. If that is so, does that mean that you must get your ticket within those 30 minutes, because that does not seem logical. Is there somewhere else where you are supposed to get tickets? Can someone please explain this?

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

You can get your ticket anytime throughout the day, you just have to bring it back with you when you go to see the show, in order to get into the theatre.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

The thing I don't understand is where you're supposed to get your tickets if the doors to the Globe don't open until 30 minutes before show time.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

There will be a ticket stand beside the globe, you can get them anytime of day, there. The stand isn't in the Globe itself.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Currently there is a small set-up with umbrella in front of the theater to the side closest to Adventure Photo. From what I have heard and was told, the snack stand in that area will be closed and renovated into a ticket booth/stand. Hopefully that will happen this week.
