RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

That's very true. It is pretty surprising to see how differently those people act based on certain circumstances (PR team behind their back vs. free-spoken). Also, Scott plans his visits very strategically. He doesn't want to talk to anyone if he can help it. Honestly, I can't blame him. I would hate to see a complement/criticism ratio for some people. I guess that's all part of the stressful job, whether you perform well or not.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Scott's inner dialog

"Look at them all... Here to see MY vision! My ART!
Well I did not build it for THEM! They will not appreciate it!
Look at them all, judging my art... How dare they presume to know me, know my art? YOU DON'T KNOW ME! Do you hear that! You... You... PEOPLE. You don't know my suffering. How the tinsel torments me. How the rainbows... how they call to me. And what do they give me to work with? UGH! AMATEURS! But I will show them. Take away my desert vision in Dubai will they... Well I will take this one down brick by spray concrete brick. I will rebuild it in MY image.... Wait… why are they not laughing? Why are they not singing? DONT YOU SEE THAT THIS IS ART PEOPLE? INGRATES! Get out, all of you... GET OUT OF MY THEATER!

I'll show them. I got rid of that stupid stage in the Netherlands or wherever it was. I covered over all this crap here in... Whales or wherever. But just wait till they see what I have in mind for their precious Loch Ness Monster....

Oh god... they let more of them into my theater...."

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Well, I saw the changes a long time ago and I wanted to give my thoughts for a long time also now.

Overall, I thought the changes were both good and bad, in my mind the changes evened out themselves and put the show at the same level it has always been. I'll just go through the show in order telling you my feelings about each change.

Okay, the first change is Lucy saying to the Crowd of people, "Have a sunny day!" Just to be quick and simple, this change was unnecessary and not needed. Lucy already stood out from the group of people, I don't understand how this one piece of dialogue helped the audience understand that any better.

Next is Lucy opening up the record and saying that the lead is so dreamy. Again, to be short and simple, this piece of dialogue was cheesy and not needed. It didn't help the storyline at all, it just added another part to the show that makes you cringe.

Next is Lucy's mother saying she daydreams to the music. This I find to be a valuable piece of dialogue that helps the confused audience members understand what happens next.

Then there's Lucy's mom calling her name. This I'm neutral on and don't have any serious thoughts on.

Then there is the Queen Segment where they let the two supporting singers come out and interact with the clip. This, is another addition that I found unnecessary. It kind of ruins the flow of this part, and just adds yet another cringe factor to the show. Especially, with the performers terrible British accents, the things they say to the crowd, and the faces they make.

Next is the Record store/proposal scene. Although there wasn't any major changes to this part, there have been changes that emphasize the more 'adult' sides of the show. There are obvious body movements and references to sex. And in one part of this scene the whole cast has to act high, and it's even more obvious now than it ever has been. Families were outraged at these things. So I think these changes are way too adult for an advertised 'family friendly' show.

Then there's the wedding scene. Again no major changes here. I have to confess though, the changes to this part of the show are for the most part good. First, the way they organized the performers, where instead of them running out from backstage and lining up, they all come out in a line and walk across center stage. This change is probably my favorite out of all of them. The rest of the changes in this scene are pretty minor.

The acid trip puppet scene is next. The only change here is the voiceover of the father that if they don't stop fighting they aren't going to the aquarium. I find this change stupid and unnecessary, but what isn't in this scene?

Next is the 'family issues' scene. This scene now shows a more obvious conflict between the parents. However, the conflict between the children has been totally taken out. This is a major part where the choreography got slashed in change for these 'improvements.' Now instead of the kids fighting, the whole family just stands at center stage joining hands for thirty seconds. Overall, the changes in this scene ruined some of the choreography that it used to have.

Finally, there's the finale. The changes here are mostly that they want the crowd to participate more. At one point they want the crowd to clap, but the message never gets across, and then they want you to sway with peace signs, of which only about less than half the crowd does. The crowd participation was yet again another change that was unnecessary and took away from the choreography in this part of the show. Now if only they could fix the horrid costumes in this scene.

Overall did the changes improve the show? Yeah... Ummm. No.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I agree with you mostly. They are pretty much back to square one. However, "square one" (with the exception of the puppets), didn't make me want to cringe every 30 seconds. What's worse, is that the park always seems to work terribly when they're under pressure. No pun intended. They make matters worse when they get desperate like that. Ex:Entwined v.1.5, Jack is Back, Europe in the Air, Frankenrock, etc.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Saw the show today and couldn't figure out what was different until my friend pointed it out! They changed up the puppet scene. There is more dancing then swimming now. Gonna try to catch the last show on my way out and watch it just to see that scene.

• Way too many blurry and misaligned video moments. How long before we have our first video triggered seizure?

- The projections have been consistently kinda blurry (other times worse than others).  The first showing I saw was actually the clearest that I remember them.  I know that there are multiple projections overlapping, but it really detracts from the experience.

netdvn said:
- The projection screens look like they're better suited for a 3D show. They looked really blurry and off at times.

There are several projectors used. Unfortunately, the "screen" is not solid. The curtains movie with air currents in the theater which cause blurred and double images. As much as it interferes with the experience, I don't see this ever being fixed while using curtains.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Most recent changes to the Show:

. Lucy Doesn't say 'Have a Sunny Day!' Anymore, the crowd of people just grown and look at the crowd.

. Lucy's dresses are now a neon yellow(just when you thought the show couldn't get any flashier)

. Druggie part has been tuned down a little, but still not enough.

. There are either more bubble machines, or they fixed the current ones, because there are a ton more bubbles.(I just had a ball popping them, it helped take my attention off the cheesiest part of the show(maybe that was the point))

Wow, another mommy blogger not disclosing any of the bribes provided. Always grand to see blatant violations of the FTC's disclosure guidelines facilitated and even encouraged by the park.
It's not a bribe. She says right at the bottom that she's affiliated with the park's blogging program and was invited to media preview day. Generally, the way you get people to review your product is by providing it. Think how few products would be reviewed if every blogger how to go out and pay out of pocket for every product they reviewed. I know some bloggers do this, like you and the rest of the BGWFans team, which is great! But that's a rarity in the marketing world; providing the product is standard procedure for almost every company. It's not an FTC violation to let people into the park to review the show you want them to review. I do think that the park should have branched out of the "mommy blogger" (ugh, I hate that phrase) demographic, but clearly they want families telling other families about BGW. Keep in mind, most of these family blogs are enormously positive about everything -- don't think that this is some kind of grand conspiracy.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

It's worth noting that LR media day attendees got far more than admission.

PS: If anyone has a spare one of those custom London Rocks lava lamps or any of the other swag people were showered with, let me know!

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

They have the power to pick and choose when they want to enforce the rules. Can't really blame them. Nor would I do any different if I was in their shoes.

I'd see it as a 'win' for those who dislike London Rocks (!) - they obviously know who the squeaky wheels are.

The puppets cost the park an absolute fortune. An absolute fortune. The chances of them vanishing seem incredibly slim.

Matthew said:
How the heck do 3 foot puppets cost a fortune, other than the fact that they have to pay 6 people to move around 3, 3 foot puppets around the stage?!

The number we hear is $15,000 each. Additionally, they are prone to breaking often.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Do people really hate the show this much? A couple days ago the park made a post, about the England Bucket List for 2014, and this is what 2 out of 6 of the replies said:

The picture opportunities are great as is the coke machine. London Rocks isn't worth the time. High hopes for this show didn't come true.

We didn't even make it through the entire show. VERY disappointing.

The rest of the comments on that post were about food, and the Beef-eaters.

Then I was going through the post where they asked you what your best day ever at the park was, and a lot of people said watch all the shows. But then I saw many comments who said stuff like this:

Eat and watch the shows other than London Rocks

More shows besides London rocks.

I didn't see one that said 'except Entwined' or any other show, which is quite frightening.

Then on the post where the park asked you to rank the shows, almost every person who ranked all the shows put London Rocks on the bottom two, or just completely on the bottom, under Entwined. People seriously do hate this show. Surprisingly, besides Entwined and LR getting beat up in those comments, there were two who, I guess really didn't like MIU.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

They wouldn't have adjusted the show in the middle of the season if they didn't have a problem with guests not liking it.
