Sorry for the double post, but it's a week apart so I figured it's ok.

The more I processed and thought about this, the more I realized this was really out of the way. And made me wonder - could this stay SBNO for a year to three while something happens with Festhaus Park? I know some HOS events go on in Festhaus Park, but they happen inside the train tracks, and this is outside the train tracks - meaning it would be quite the hike without additional attraction to go back there. But if you put a coaster back there (even inside the tracks) and do a few small things on just the other side, this could make more sense.

I know this goes borderline concept area: Would be cool to see them use more of the space slightly southwest of the old Drachen Fire Station outside the tracks with the new Event Facility and have the new coaster pass by it. Could be a nice "photo moment" too with a path going close to where the drop for a coaster back to the boneyard is. Could allow the remainder of Festhaus Park to be used for expansion too.
Your assuming that there won't be additional attractions back there for Howl-O-Scream. A loop could very easily be made using Nevermore, Whitches and the new building.

I acknowledged that there's more HOS attractions back in that area. But that would mean then they built something for a 1 time a year event. Would be nice long term to see a plan for using this.

I constantly wonder why they put this building back there where they did especially if it will be used for customer event purposes. Yes they have the land back there but there's nothing else around it except for Festhaus Park, the Black Forest picnic area and maybe in a year or two another coaster and occasionally the robotic deer. 🙂 Plus it's a little bit of a walk to get back there, you have to cross the train tracks, there's no fence to guide people into crossing the tracks at the RR crossing road vice anywhere they feel like it near the road/crossing, that crossing should then be equipped with arms to stop people and traffic and will they have to have an employee back there to monitor the area for safety or will the RR engineers have to be responsible for that. I'm sure they can make it work but I'd have to believe that there are a number of things they will need to do for safety's sake..

It appears that new alterations to the building have been filed this summer could this possibly be walls?

Noticed they’ve set up the temporary enclosed “pop up” tents usually used around Christmas town under the new structure. “Lights were on but nobody was home” last night.😅 Very weird space and now I have even more questions what the end goal for this thing is?

I don't know if those tents are Christmas Town related or work related to the building. Last I had heard BGW wouldn't allow employees near it as a result of the inspection related issues.

The building actually just passed certificate of occupancy and final:building last week; but there may be some issues with the grading of the hill to the Rhine. We saw a plan come through that wasn't exactly clear why/what it was all about.

Update: I missed the ones that failed.. interesting update.

Sorry for the Triple post... But I wanted to recap what we know.

The event building has failed final inspections for certificate of occupancy for numerous reasons.

The water intrusion is probably the most serious problem unless the anchor bolts are something that needs more attention that it appears to on the surface.

I know that only a few weeks ago there was a request to be able to use it for prep and covered storage during Howl-O-Scream prep and that at the time staff were not only told no but that it was still considered under the control of the construction contractor and to stay far way from the work area. That certainly could have changed in the past few weeks. But my understanding is that for liability reasons till it fully passes county inspection BGW staff are not allowed in that general area.

For basically a warehouse without permanent walls, does anyone else think the amount of permitting rejections are highly ridiculous?

It is but I honestly don't know what else on the park's end could have been done. They went with a plan created by a third party contractor with experience in this kinda work and hired a construction company that seems to be highly respectable. I honestly don't know that the blame for this mess can be laid at the feet if the park or even SEA.

I can't imagine there wouldn't have been some heavy penalties and/or legal action someone would have heard something about by now, though trying to figure out blame is something for the courts.

They may also be waiting for all work to be
done before bringing a lawsuit.

Usually these type of things don't go to court real quick because you want to make sure you know the total cost of the issue before going to trial. We also have no idea what other options and concession might have been offered or are being explored.

I was implying that someone with contacts on here may have enough detail to shed some light.

Otherwise, to that end, it seems odd to me that when there's a whiff of a new ride coming folks on here are able to give incredible detail long before ground is broken, yet we're still all relatively in the dark about this building and the point of not having walls.

Coasters are exciting and people are sometimes willing to risk their jobs leaking it.

Very few people are going to risk their jobs over a new building that is primarily intended for storage.

Fair, but something still seems off - if it was just a warehouse or training facility, there's no reason to not include walls.

Only things I can think of why that'd be is covered landscaping supply storage (mulch, sand, etc), or if there's something fairly large they want to place in there that can be done without removing a roof but needs a wall removed.

Different sources have different comfort levels and some types of information get more widely spread than others.
