Forgot I had this little tidbit of info on a sticky note on my phone. Apparently there are three timing settings between the sky buckets being released.
They are as follows:
- 24 seconds (used for slow days)
- 17 seconds (used for average days)
- 12 seconds (used for CT & extremely busy times; 48 sky buckets)

Was told this by three different operators while I was timing the release on my stopwatch. I had nothing better to do while waiting in line. I wasn't told how many buckets are on the other two settings. But I WILL find out!
(I'm sure Nora already knows these things and is shaking her head at me.) :p

Awww...I love how I was indirectly referenced by our resident BGW sage. :) hehehe

Btw, could have sworn I saw you on Sunday, Nora, but alas, no lanyard w/pins, so I had to guess it wasn't you. Besides, she was almost as tall as I am (6'1") and I'm guessing you're not quite that tall, yes?

I was there Sunday and I was more dressed up than normal, so no lanyard for me that day. It may have been me. I am not 6'1"- but I am taller than average.

Well, next time you see a skinny guy in a polo shirt & jeans pushing a huge stroller with two very blonde kids in it and a very short blonde girl (I mean 4'9" short) w/funky colored tennis shoes walking next to me, that's us.

Does anyone know what that cable that droops down in between each support column? I've always wondered if it's just a cable randomly there to help put weight on the other side or some kind of electrical cable to connect each station together.

As seen in this photo.

It also ruins that awesome Nessie shot.

What was going on with the skyride yesterday? I was on Lochness and heard an anouncment stating there is minor technical dificulties. Then I noticed the skyride was not moving. It was stuck for no more then about 30min.

It is nothing new to see it not operating for periods of time. Mostly it is due to high winds within the area, and in such cases guests typically can get stuck for an hour at most from what I've seen; however I have yet to actually see them evacuate the ride though.

But honestly, it does have minor technical difficulties, I mean extremely minor.

Hey. Is it my imagination or are there more gondolas on the sky ride this CT? The line seems to move much faster, and it looks as if the gondolas are closer together.

It's probably because during Christmas Town they put on more gondolas for the expected crowds. And I've noticed the same thing, too.

It begs the question: why don't they run more gondolas during HOS? I wonder if there are also staffing constraints when all of the rides Ade running.

So I found out this weekend that you can't stay in the bucket to go to the next station... so much for using it as actual transportation. Wait 20 minutes... take a 2 minute ride... wait another 20 minutes. I bet the train would be faster

The reason for that is most likely because the train has more seats so if some people stay on, people that have been waiting in line can still get on. On the skyride, however, if everyone in the skyride decides to stay on, no one in line can get on.

Yes but just like the train... some would get off, some would stay on. I suspect more would get off than stay on though
