Yes, the cable is back up and counterweight is on for the Skyride. And, the tree did land on the mountain. No damage was done to the structure. Where the Skyride haul cable had fallen had simply crushed a handrail for Nessie, which has since been fixed as it opened yesterday.

Great to hear! (Not the part about Nessie catwalk being crushed, but about the ride cable already being back up.)

It was running tonight, but the Christmas lights aren’t on the gondolas yet (or at least they haven’t been turned on).

There were a handfull with them on last night I would assume the rest will be getting them soon.

Guessing they were inspecting the skyride tonight.

With the construction and crane work for Loch Ness going on within the ride envelope of the Skyride (and Alpengeist), neither ride can do any run checks as it is part of green tag until the crane crews are finished with their work. Typically this is at the end of a work day. 5:00-5:30.

Unfortunately for the Skyride, run checks are quite literally how techs closely inspect the 10 towers along the route with "power-on" inspections using that maintenance gondola. Techs basically can only do half their green tag on the skyride before 5:30 during week days, and half in the dark after 5:30.

For Alpengeist, run checks basically consist of running block checks, very simple and very quick. The majority of the green tag consists of "power-off" inspections. So, weather and staff permitting Alpengeist opens sooner than Skyride on week days while construction is going on.

Does anyone know how many cars the skyride runs these days? I was watching some old videos from BGW and it clearly used to run way more. Someone way back in this thread said they own 50 and it used to run 47 or 48, interested to know how many it runs now
