So my gold pass expires in january. If I known for a fact im renewing should I do it now for the VIP sale while still paying on my pass till january? So that means im paying on 2 seperate passes?

Hope this question makes sense lol
Yes they are cheaper at the moment and will likely go up considerably by the first of the year plus you will lose your free all park access if that matters to you.

Do we know, if you buy a Gold pass from, say, SFGAdv, can we buy discounted bring-a-friend tickets for other parks? Or is that benefit only for the home park? I know the one free bring-a-friend is good only at the home park, but what about discounted ones?

SFGAdv gold passes are only $79, vs $95 from KD. For me these parks are about equidistant. But actually what I want the discounted bring-a-friend ticket for is Dorney. They have a Whip still and my sister really wants to ride it (me too!), but she doesn’t want a season pass.

Ok. Thanks. Well that’s a bummer, but oh well

Related question. Can you use the free bring-a-friend ticket on your initial visit or only a later visit?

As long as the pass is active you should be able to use it right away. Guest services is processing free tickets now, they should be able to provide you with the free ticket before entering.

Historically, a holder of a CF Platinum Pass or Gold Pass with All-Park-Passport would be able to buy discounted Bring-A-Friend tickets at any CF park. In fact, I just tried to buy a Bring-a-Friend ticket at Cedar Point using my 2025 Gold+APP pass that I purchased from Kings Dominion last year (that was originally issued at Dorney Park) and it validated the pass as it should and let me get all the way to the final "confirm purchase" page.

I was not able to purchase a Bring-a-Friend ticket a SFGAdv with this pass, however. Note that 2025 CF "All-Park-Passports" basically just give you a reusable single-day ticket to legacy SF parks, though, not an actual season pass code.

If the 2026 passes are unified, there is no reason to believe that you would not be able to use one to buy a Bring-a-Friend at any park in the combined SFEC family.

Edit: Sorry for the double-post.

Does the MPV Gold Pass sale also include parking for all 40 parks?
When you go to checkout for the MVP sale, it actually shows All-Park Passport add on as being included for $0.00. That answers a lot of questions regarding the Terms and Conditions, plus it appears that add-on will stay.

Also, 2025 all-parks dining add on is back on the site. I don't know why it isn't offered as an add-on for your 2026 advance sales pass, in fact the first time I tried to buy both it dumped one. 2026 all-parks dining only includes home park in 2025 (according to their site, someone on FB said it works). Ended up buying them seperate anyway because you can't choose insurance for one of two items in single purchase.

UPDATE to my previous post, specifically for @Crunchewy and @Mattatee

I have now renewed my pass for 2026 through the MVP Sale. Some notes:

-This pass was initially purchased in 2023 at Dorney Park, then renewed in the fall of 2024 at Kings Dominion (for 2024 and 2025), and then renewed again just today through Kings Dominion for 2026..
-When I add the pass to the Six Flags app, it generates a different 20-digit barcode that is described as a "All Park Pass Passport - Gold Daily Ticket"; it is NOT recognized as a season pass.
-The only Add-On I purchased was the All-Season Paper Cup Drink Plan, which does show on my pass for every Legacy CF park app I log into. It does NOT show in the Six Flags app, since according to that app, I don't have a "season pass."

As for Bring-a-Friend tickets:
-I can still buy Bring-a-Friend tickets at any Legacy Cedar Fair park using the 8-character code on the back of the physical pass card or the 20-digit barcode from the back of the pass.
-I CANNOT buy Bring-a-Friend tickets at any Legacy Six Flags park, using either the 20-digit barcode on the back of the physical pass card or the 20-digit barcode generated by the Six Flags app. NOTE HOWEVER, that the store web pages for Six Flags Parks says the following when prompting you to verify your season pass:

If you have purchased an All Park Passport from a Legacy Cedar Fair Park, you will need to visit Guest Services to verify your pass.
That language makes me think that you CAN buy Bring-a-Friend tickets with a pass purchased at a Legacy CF park, you just can't do it online and have to do it in person at Guest Services.

I unfortunately have no way of knowing what this all looks like for a person who bought their pass through a Legacy Six Flags park.

Hope this helps you make a decision.

This isn't confusing at all. 😆 But thanks for the info. Much appreciated!

Not all encompassing, but some observations for legacy Six Flags passes:

- The pass displays in the app as "All Park Passport - [insert tier here] Season Pass." Scans into legacy Cedar Fair Parks with no issue, whether electronically or via plastic card.

- Add ons for 2025 are displayed in the "Benefits" tab linked to your pass; those for 2026 (even if they are applicable for the remainder of 2025) aren't yet shown. However, all of these still work as they should when the pass is scanned at restaurants, etc!

- Immediately upon scanning in to your home park after purchase, the "Valid until" date changes from 1/3/2026 to 1/3/2027. No need to start next season with a home park scan if you're planning on going somewhere else first!

- I downgraded one of my passes from 2025 prestige to 2026 gold, but the app still correctly shows the higher level pass for the time being, which is good (mostly notable because my diamond Six Flags pass was converted immediately when I renewed during last year's Labor Day sale, so lost access to perks like preferred parking and my merchandise discount decreased by 5% before it was supposed to).

The sale has been extended two more weeks through September 14.

Anyone else have great success convincing their friends to get a gold pass that otherwise wouldn’t have? We’re already planning a loop around Cedar Point, Kings Island and Canada’s Wonderland and separately a PA/NJ trip. These are people who last year would scoff at the idea of getting a season pass. I’m optimistic that SF will have a good quarter this year with the MVP sale and Halloween events starting up.

Yeah, credit where it’s due for Six Flags, I have several friends who bought the pass because they heard it gets you all the SF parks. Some even heard about it on their own (not from me) so word has definitely gotten around. It’ll be interesting to hear at the next earnings call if this push got them the buzz they wanted.

Uncle Herschel seems to have gotten the message!

I plan on upgrading my 2026 Gold pass to Prestige. I'm seeing a few different answers so I'm curious, can I do this on the app/online or would I have to visit the park guest services?
