I plan on upgrading my 2026 Gold pass to Prestige. I'm seeing a few different answers so I'm curious, can I do this on the app/online or would I have to visit the park guest services?
Either visit or call guest services for your options. It’s possible to do it, but I remember back in 2024 when I tried to do the upgrade from gold to prestige, guest services had a lot of issues getting it to work on their end, since I purchased all parks passport.

In my case, I had to pay in full of my remaining monthly payments, then get the gold pass cancelled and refunded, then purchase the prestige pass in person at guest services.

I currently have a gold season pass. I purchased it during the MVP sale so I still have all park access, but would an upgrade to prestige be worth it nonetheless? Or would that money be better spent as a dining add on or something else?

I think the money would be better spent on food and merch. You already have access to all the parks, you're basically just paying for extra discounts after that point. As for something else, you could put that money away in a savings account or invest it in gold or something 😅

Yea but dont gold passes from the MVP not grant early park access? They did last year but I thought now they don't

As someone that paid for Prestige I am quite annoyed that people that paid less suddenly are getting the same benefits that I paid for. Honestly seems like a bad business model to annoy some of the people that traditionally have been the biggest spenders at your parks.

The 1 free fast lane may come in clutch and the prestige lounge would be a nice place to cool down, but it's also an extra $100
It really depends on if you visit solo or with other people. No one else that I visited with had prestige. So I never redeemed the one free fast lane and mainly used the lounge as a place to get a bag of chips and my drink package without having to deal with bees or a line. The gated parking lot was nice but then they took away the dedicated exits which made it harder to get to at the end of the day.

To be clear, Prestige has never been an all-park pass, so the MVP sale doesn't do anything to negate its value. It's always been a park-specific pass.

Financially, I think Prestige is immediately "worth it" if you plan to bring two friends/family members to the park this year and would otherwise buy a day ticket for them. The two free bring-a-friend passes are worth about $60 minimum (total), compared to the cheapest bring-a-friend tickets you can usually get that are included with the gold pass; on a more expensive day, they're worth more like $90. So if you were going to buy those tickets anyway, that brings the "effective cost" of upgrading to Prestige down from $100 to between $10 and $30. It's even less if buy lots of merch of non-dining plan food and can stretch the extra 5% discount.

Beyond that, I think the biggest perk of Prestige is the VIP lounge, so if you find the free tickets valuable, then I say it's worth the upgrade for the lounge alone. I've used it as a work-from-home space a few times and totally would've used it as a place to do homework if it had existed back when I was in school! The free snacks are a nice little perk too, and I've saved at least a few dollars by grabbing those instead of paying for a snack in the park.

The other perks I could take or leave. The single-use Fast Lane is nice but I rarely visit the park alone anymore, and usually being the only person with Prestige, I often don't use it. The VIP entrance is nice but only available a few hours a day. Preferred parking is nice on crowded days though only marginally beneficial on lighter attendance days. The "improved" Pass Perks (which I think they've removed as a benefit, mercifully) were a joke; just a collection of BOGOs and other gimmicky sales on things like popcorn and pretzels.

Still, it's not a bad deal if you'll actually use the benefits, IMO.

So a little rant here. Prestige pass holders received no discount again this year for renewal. We also didn't receive the free one day haunt pass that gold passes got for early purchases as best as I can tell. On top of that those that had a meal plan and purchased the upgraded meal plans can't use them till 2027 and are stuck with the more restricted 2026 plans while people that paid the exact same price for those passes and meal plans can begin using them immediately. Seems like a really shitty way to treat pass members who have been spending big bucks at the park for years.

My understanding is most likely however I know someone that had an 26 prestige that downgraded to gold for 27 seeing that there were not planning on traveling outside of the region in 27. They tried to use their pass at Cedar Point for a ladt trip of the year and were told they couldn't because it was niw a Kings Dominion Gold. The oass program just seens luke a Giant mess right now

No you are miss understand they HAD prestige for 26 when they renewed they were down grading for 27 and Six Flags remived the prestige and replaced it with the lower pass as soon as they made the purchase even though the old one should have been good through the end of the year. Guests services told them they either had to pay to reupgrade or by day tickets as the new pass automatically replaces the old.
