RE: Killarney Kommotion (2013 to Present)

Because Busch Gardens suddenly feels like it needs to compete with Kings Dominion. The target audience has shifted radically.

Wow! I need to get that statement engraved in Brass!

Good Grief! (No Charlie Brown pun intended). With stuff shutting down at the park and now rumors of the Busch parks being sold; it feels like its every person for themselves on this site!

(back to your regular scheduled Kommotion thread)

If the KD audience comes to BGW, they will be sorely disappointed by the amount of rides. This is why appealing to the KD audience is a dumb idea.

RIGHT. If you're coming for the rides, you're in the wrong place. This area is great because it has two parks for two audiences. Why make one like the other?

From being a leader to being a follower.
Nice choice. Someone there deserves a raise. :dodgy:

During these rough times for the park, whatever happens, the last thing the park should be doing is alienating it's base fans by playing Pitbull at the park.

Why alienate the people that do want to hear it. People who don't like it, don't see it and go watch TIO. Simple.

Because the park has never had to rely on that crappy music. By playing that music for the show, they are upsetting the park's base, the ones who have been the park's customers before the people are young enough to enjoy the music were born. The park has never been a place to go to to listen to the top twenty hits, it has never been designed to do so, and that is why the park playing that music is such a bad thing. If you really want top twenty hits at a theme park, then you should go to KD, that park is designed to pander to the lowest common denominator.

The point I think PK is making is that him and others go to BGW to not hear that kind of music.

So someone brought one of those things to the park? It better be locked up. Or at least muzzled on a leash.

No, the point I'm making is that it does not fit the park at all. Why the hell are they playing J-Lo in Ireland? Let's give an example. I like Chiptune music, but if the park played it, it would be a terrible thing for the park to do. You need to realize that just because you like something, doesn't mean the park should be doing it. The park's base knows what the park should be doing and if they do something totally unrelated to the park, the base gets pissed off.

No, they go there because they love how the classical music ties in with the theme and feel of the park so perfectly. I don't really see many people saying "Oh wow, I don't want to hear this music. I'm just gonna go to BG so I can listen to music that isn't this."

First off, it is only crappy in your opinion. I find it to be good. No they aren't upsetting the park's base just you and a few others that don't enjoy the music. Honestly, every show I went to the entire audience enjoyed it. The park's audience is families, not older people who grew up in the 80's. Families that want everyone to be happy. It is only one show. It only plays 4 times a day for two months and its gone. I also do not appreciate the insult to that vast group that enjoys that music.

Like I said the park needs to tailor to EVERYONE not just one select group. They don't do thing to cater to one particular group of people but to various groups to try to appeal to everyone. Such as Glory in the Gardens for the religious mothers and such, and Fiends for the more not so innocent group.

You don't like it so okay, that is fine for you I understand, but the insults to the music and the audience is very upsetting.

I think we have already left the theme long ago. This isn't the Old Country anymore.
