I’m sure they took great pains to avoid any repeat, after the bear head had its unscheduled disassembly event. Honestly I think the new decoration looks pretty cool, and I hope it stays around for a long time.
2 Shields on the front making the train be what’s invading the village is what should have been the decoration from the start. Thematically it makes more sense (even if the premise for the ride story doesn’t).

Disappointing story but obviously kinda biased. I’ve been to BGW when ride ops have been very rude on the first ask of something like that. (Not defending the guy, that’s a trash move to blame someone else like he would have gotten away with it if there wasn’t a delay).

IMO a good ride op sees that as someone is coming up that ramp (especially from that way) and let’s them know to take off the hat. Then as he’s getting on should have been said. If he was told for the first time after everything was locked in….I take issue from that from a consumer end.

Yes...when I worked there I told RAPs and QQs to leave their items in the baskets as they walked to their seats. It's important to be proactive and not wait until restraints are locked to check for articles, but it doesn't excuse how that guy reacted. Bottom line is, if guests are going to be rude to team members like that, they will be asked to leave. Ride operators are there for the safety of guests. If a hat flies off on the ride, it will have a painful impact when it hits somebody. I also want to mention that the guy was wearing a hood over his hat so it may have been hard for them to spot at first, which reminds me of how some guests like to hide their hats on the ride (sit on them or stuff them in shirts) and then put it back on when returning to the station and to supervisors or the manager looking like they had rode with the hat the entire time. It pisses me off.

I didn't say anything to the guy at all, but I was definitely off the hinge when writing that post. In the moment of the incident I was shocked, alarmed, and disgusted that a guest would behave like that. He caused a huge scene, which brought me bad memories from when I worked there. I'm very glad that I made it out in a single piece.

I’m glad your safe, and like I said, 0 excuses for how the guy reacted.

EDIT -
Sorry to go a little more in depth after the fact. But more so what I was trying to express was without being there, I can't speak to fully what transpired, but something else may have happened to make the guy "lose it". Not sure what it is, and he's surely in the share of the blame. But given other things we've heard about operations this year, I wouldn't be shocked if something happened to him through the day that made him be on edge.

But again, it's no excuse to be rude to you, a fellow patron at this point. I do think that this sometimes can be the 'lesson' for parks on having RAP Pass enter on the exit side, loose items storage on the exit side, and letting RAP Pass patrons on first. It's not your fault you had to put something over there, and clearly his reaction to that is unjustified; but a team member could have helped you by taking the bag and putting it over there so you didn't have to climb over the guy or have someone on the gate side only let you through, then let the RAP Pass person on after you've settled in. (I will add, this is not a BGW alone issue, I had a similar incident at Hershey on Wildcat this year).

I didn't actually climb over the guy; when the gates opened I told him I needed to get my articles to the other side and he stepped out to let me through. Honestly though I should not have gotten in that row with him even though I was a single rider. I was literally right next to him when he exploded, and it made me extremely uncomfortable.

I mentioned this in another thread, but am reposting this here: They should put building props in the clearings in this ride, and a village scene along the outer path. Not only would it complete the theme of the ride, but it would also make up for the destruction of the Big Bad Wolf's village scene.

I honestly love that idea. It would really help with the ride’s storytelling from a thematic perspective. It would also alleviate some of the aesthetic and thematic issues that I think InvadR has caused for Le Scoot. Plus, for a mostly low-to-the-ground family coaster like InvadR, the close proximity of building fronts could enhance the sensation of speed.

And, while any bit of theming is a big ask with today’s SEAS, in general it would seem fairly inexpensive — like with BBW, it could be almost totally accomplished with simple wooden facades.
